My tact when I think I am being discriminated against or do not like a service…I quit and find another.

  • Facebook is fine when punishing others financially, but cries when others do it to them

To me, Facebook in 2025 will be equivalent to AOL in 2022. All but irrelevant to anyone under the age of 65. And rarely used even then. My 90 year old uncle and aunt have AOL email and Facebook accounts, and last time I visited, they had unread messages going back three years, and my aunt had forgotten they even had a Facebook page! I checked out 2 years ago, and don't miss the person it had molded me into.
That is spot on. I have been telling everyone I know that the cool kids left long, long ago. I have never had an account as I don't want anyone to know what I am up to unless I see them in person or talk to them on the phone or via email or text. Publishing your life for others to see is a terrible idea all the way around. Unfortunately the young ones have migrated to an even lower IQ platform with Tik Tok and to a degree Instagram, which is the next old person platform.

  • Apple confirms Studio Display speaker fault, offers workaround

They have gone from what were probably ASIC’s which greatly simplifies things. Adding a what is an iPhone less a few parts has probably made it ridiculously more complicated. It’s kind of like the effort to computerize everything. Simple things become overly complicated with no benefit. Simplicity with minimal functionality always wins.

I’ll add that firmware updates have made it possible to deliver incomplete products knowing they can be “fixed” later. I’m not talking about legitimate fixes to products that come out occasionally. Similar to what was done to the Thunderbolt monitor twice I think.

  • US finance regulator plans 'very careful look' at Apple Pay Later, similar services

The biggest online Pay Later company has to be Pay Pal, not Apple Pay, so why aren't you including them in this article? Of course, every credit card company used on-line has always done this as their normal business.
Credit cards are loans issued by chartered banks which are highly regulated in general. If they are chartered by the federal government the OCC regulates them. If chartered by a state then that state’s division of banking regulates them. If they are members of the Federal Reserve then they are also regulated by it. If they are required to have deposits insured by the FDIC then that agency also regulates them. Any of those government entities have the power to go into those banks whenever they want and request all records without any need for a warrant.
And we all know that banks do not want anyone on their turf as they have shame in pummeling those with debt.
