As an Apple shareholder I hope Apple has factored this cost of doing business in Europe into their pricing in Europe.  Seems to me Europe looks at large U.S. tech companies like Apple to pay for their bloated national budgets.
The US already supports a lot of the EU making these stupid lawsuits revolting. The EU doesn’t make many products used worldwide, especially compared to the USA.
This is literally about Spotify, which is the worldwide market leader, trouncing Apple Music with over 30% market share vs. just under 14%.
Paid subscribers are all that matter. The freeloaders are forced to listen to commercials so there probably are some pennies on the table for those customers. As of last July Spotify had about 45 million paying customers and Apple just about 34 million. I don't know how that works out revenue wise but it is close to a 30% lead. Give it a few more years and it will be a lot closer.

  • Xcode coding assistance rumored to be early Apple generative AI effort

I guess the day is coming soon when you don't have to know how to code at all in order to code.
And it is coming quickly. Like every initiative involving jobs by the time everyone is in the pipeline it starts closing up. My career is coming to end as I ride off into the sunset. When I started software development tools sucked. For the most part you had to write everything from scratch. Now just about anything you need has been written completely or there is a library to get you really close. For those planning  legitimate computer science careers you will probably squeak by. Coders on the other hand will be the next chimney sweeps.

This isn't a criticism per se, but this does read like a cheap attempt by this single-plane airline out of the Maldives to gain some press off of the Apple Vision Pro.
Or attract passengers?  Sounds like a great marketing idea to me.  I hope every airline does this, and soon, we are flying a first-class round trip to Europe in July; I'd love it if this were the case on our flights.
I’m certain your ticket was dirt cheap compared to a single-plane airline out of the Maldives.

  • 'Strong action' is coming if the EU doesn't like Apple's App Store concessions

The EU, unlike the US, believes in the spirit of the law, instead of the word of the law, Apple should have realised that.

Apple cannot win this one by using legal loopholes. I suspect if this continues we may see one of two possibilities:-

    I) Apple exits the EU.
II) The EU bans Apple within its borders.

I suspect Apple doesn't want to give up the European market to Samsung and Google, so the first one is highly dependent on whether Apple can still get a profit with side loading existing.
Of course they can make a profit, a major profit in fact. Few people will sideload, and Google has managed quite a few billion in profit from the Play Store despite several 3rd party app stores on the Android platform. This is all about Apple muscle-flexing and not any significant danger to profits nor security IMO
Consumers are the only ones who stand to lose anything and no one will give up an Apple phone for an Android. EU citizens will not let this happen quietly and of course rendering millions of phones to be restricted to installed apps is the infinitely worse than having to throw away tens of millions of charging cables.
