  • Polestar cars now get full-screen Apple Maps on driver's display

I don't own the car and probably never will unless I hit a lotto jacket. Putting that aside, but wow, a full screen CarPlay. Nice. CarPlay started from 4:3 screen to wide screen and now full screen. I like how my CarPlay fill up my Lexus' entire wide screen. Icons and exit numbers are nice and big and I can read them quickly without keeping my eyes off the road for too long. It's 10 times better than navigation map from car manufacture which is ridiculously hard to read on exit numbers and directions. CarPlay looks cartoony but it helps when I am driving. Safety first and Apple delivers.

  • Inside Apple Ginza: Tokyo's boutique Apple Store

I had been Ginza before. All tall building stores there are skinny and slim. To compensate for the narrow space, all stores have multiple floors. Ginza is equivalent to Fifth Ave in New York City. Expensive and hi-end stuffs are selling there. One cool thing is almost every store there has some sort of cafe on most top level. Louis Vuitton in Japan has a cafe. I am surprise Apple Store Ginza doesn't have one.

  • AI could lead humanity to extinction if not controlled, claims experts

I tried AI technology on a few graphic projects: this includes turning pixelated image to hi-res and filling artificial extended background on a very tight cropped images in Photoshop BETA. It's mind blowing I have to say. It thinks like human with minor flaws. It knows what I want to do with the images. Some Photoshop retouches will take me one hour to do and it only takes 1 minute for AI to execute. I am testing this is on a built-in AI feature that Photoshop Beta is currently incorporating. For turning pixelated image to hi-res works miraculously also on human faces and other objects. It still has some flaws and additional manual Photoshop retouches are required. I used free beta service from a website for this image upscaling. Overall, I am super impressed. AI is here to stay and it will get better as time goes by. It's a must have new tool for graphic designer (As long as I don't hear "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that", then we're safe).

  • Apple is shutting down the really old 'My Photo Stream' on July 26

I got the email, too. Confusing. I don't see My Photo Stream anywhere in my Photos app. All of my photos are automatically mirrored under iCloud Photos. Maybe the latest OS already got rid of it?

  • CarPlay & Android Auto have a stranglehold on the new car market

Ever since CarPlay going wireless, I love it. I use it more and more now. Before it was pain to physically connect to the iPhone every time I got in the car therefore I barely used it. Now I can ditch subscription and use CarPlay instead. Cars that I lease recently (Lexus) and leased in the past (Mercedes) require subscriptions after 3 years for their infotainments.
