  • After Cambridge Analytica scandal, publishers see Apple News as a solid alternative to bei...

Ridiculous. Apple News isn't even available on the majority of the world's devices (non iOS devices) and that's not even considering that it's not even available in most countries (even Canada doesn't officially have it).

Apple News is NOT in a good place to take over. Any news source would be suicidal to remove itself from Google.

Is DED worried about iPhone sales or something?
Whenever he writes about the competitors like this he is... You can always know when a competitor is doing well when DED decides to write a hit piece on them.

Yea there's a lot of media who want to see Apple fail in so many ways. Here's more proof that cheap copies doesn't make a great deal and Apple will usually win out eventually. Poor build quality, lousy software and cheap components don't make it in the real world as an iPhone competitor.

Android loyalists can shout as loud as the want from the mountaintops. At the end of the day, it's just a good-enough operating system, and will never been as well-aligned as iOS. Just a shame so many Android developers bring junk apps to the platform.
Android is far more than a "good enough OS". Android is better than iOS in many ways just like iOS is better in many different ways. They're both amazing OS' with their strengths and weaknesses.

There are plenty of great Android apps too. It looks like you haven't looked at Android in years to be honest...

  • Failure of Pixel 2 exposed a larger problem: Google's ads don't work

Wow! That Portrait Mode image is awful. I can't believe Bohn would say that looks good. If you click on the link to his post many people point out how it didn't even do the right side of the image to which he defends by saying it was good, not great.

If that's the bar then here's a good copy of the Mona Lisa and two great buildings next to a good one.

The Pixel's Portrait mode has gotten so much better since launch, but of course Daniel won't post example of recent photos because that would go against his narrative.

You were doing so well until you called MS Office “very good”. Did someone drop a frozen turkey on your head?

    (MS Office? Seriously?)

MS Office is the best suite out there when it comes to productivity. There's a reason why it's the most used by far.
Reason #1: lack of options twenty years ago.
Reason #2: entrenchment in business environments.

The last good version of Office was Word 5.1a for Mac. Ca. 1991.

Today, Office is being used less and less.

Do you have any numbers to back that statement up with? Because in the professional world it is by far the de facto suite that everyone uses.

Office suites for Mac were pretty awful until recently. On Windows they're pretty good though.
