  • Apple lowers holiday quarter guidance on lower than expected iPhone sales

The XS Max (256) is an amazing phone all around. I love it more almost daily. FaceID just works, stereo sound is broad and loud, the screen is incredibly crisp, the phone operates lightning fast and I love True Tone. What the cost of an epic phone should be, I don’t know. I’m just glad I own one. Probably the only reason I’ll upgrade will be for 5G, or nervousness when AppleCare Plus expires since it’s so expensive to repair (or replace!) I’ll see what the landscape is in 2 years.

One last thought: We also pay for Apple’s entire private and secure ecosystem, again which just works. I’ll never embrace Google’s “free” ecosystem. Trust is hard to earn, and my digital life is in Apple’s world for the long term. I remain curious as to what lies ahead tech wise.

    Ain’t that the truth

  • Samsung continues anti-iPhone X crusade with three new videos

Attack ads are about diverting attention to the lack of more robust solutions to things that matter. Samsung is reinforcing the myths that are out there about the iPhone. Good PR for iPhone though.

Hilariously ridiculous pic of the family with notch haircuts! 😂

  • Apple promotes free month of upgraded iCloud storage to non-paying users

I get that 5GB seems a little frugal on Apple’s part. On the other hand, when you pay you’re not the product (as opposed to free GDrive and free Facebook and you’re definitely the product) You get privacy and encryption and stability and peace of mind and convenience. Surely worth 99c or $2.99/month?

  • New Samsung ad takes shot at Apple over iPhone X notch, battery throttling controversy

And as before, and as it always will, Apple stays its course, unflustered and unflinching, And more pointedly, non-reactive. Unlike Samsung, who’s every move is based on Apple. Samsung’s identity is plain to see in ads luke these. It’s not a matter of Apple not stooping to Samsung’s level, it’s that Apple isn’t going to allow Samsung to bait them into losing focus. That doesn’t mean Apple won’t stand their ground - the court battle is about Apple fighting to stay that course, which includes truth and integrity. My prediction is that the jury will see what each company stands for and that Apple will prevail.
