    MicroSoft = Malware
Not these days IMHO.  I would have agreed until Windows 10.   I have five PCs now as well as seven macs and all the PCs run Windows 10 pro with no third party anti whatever crap, MS's built in defenses have proven able to keep all my hardware safe thus far.  99% of the issues with Windows was always crapware and the likes of anti-virus apps as they were malware themselves.  That said, no PC is used for mail or web access.  Just applications or Mysql.
^ Windows Defender is decent (if barebones)

With Apple’s increased risk of malware, they need to develop something similar.
    ...
Any time a Windows machine is purchased it needs to be immediately wiped and loaded with the ISO from Microsoft’s website.  The malware/crap ware is coming from the OEMs.

  • Apple launching program to store content closer to consumers

The Apple supplied servers will have all Apple TV+ content permanently stored, as well as other frequently consumed content from Apple Channels I’d guess. I’ve read that Apple uses very high bit rates for ATV+, so having the content sitting on the ISP’s network is a win for everybody.
It’s possible that being inside an ISP’s network would allow Apple to get a deal those anything downloaded from iTunes or tv+ wouldn’t count toward’s a customer’s monthly data cap. Should Apple ever expand tv+ to include a multi channel streaming package like YouTube TV, it might include that as well.
Apple shouldn’t get a deal, if anything they should pay (or call it even).  The ISP is decreasing traffic and latency, while Apple is reducing the data coming out of their server farms.  By implementing the Apple Edge Cache they’re basically reducing expenses while greatly increasing the number of customers they can service (maybe... it might just reduce Apple’s bill to Akamai).

    The only ‘loser’ here is
    Akamai.

  • Huawei hit hard by coronavirus in China, new criminal charges in U.S.

I didn’t buy into to Samsung being harmed by the corona virus as munch as other Android manufacturers, but I absolutely do with China cell phone manufacturers and Huawei in particular.

The only pushback I’ll offer is
Huawei is diversified, and a key player in the 5G global rollout.  So, while they’ll take a hit, it won’t be fatal, and they’ll bounce back.  The weaker Android China manufacturers are in trouble (not the ones listed) I’d be surprised if there isn’t consolation.

I’m very concerned about state sponsored IP by China, but I need evidence...

I do know it’s occurring, but the US stance against Huawei seems more political than evidence based.

  • YouTube TV to cancel subscriptions purchased through Apple in-app payments in March

This sounds like what Netflix did, except Netflix was eating the Apple Tax rather than customers (if I remember correctly).

Eventually it will only be the little devs and micro-payments going through Apple.

I wonder if Apple is ever going to do something to reverse this trend, or if they care...

Would making it 5% bring everyone back on board, and have the transactions go through Apple?  There must be a number...

  • Coronavirus to hit Android's hopes for 5G, folding screens the hardest

I’m not sure Samsung should be listed with the other manufacturers.
    ”Samsung Mobile Phone Manufacturing Locations
As of 2019, Samsung has its mobile phone manufacturing factories at 6 locations – Vietnam, China, India, Brazil, Indonesia, and South Korea. 50% of Samsung mobile phones are made in Vietnam and 8% in Korea. Rest is manufactured in India, Brazil, Indonesia and China.Nov 20, 2019”
A variety of phones are built outside of China. However, Samsung is still affected both with relation to relying on components and materials from China, as well as the interruption of events and trade shows. As the article noted, Samsung’s recent performance in smartphones has been so bad even before the issue that it doesn’t need much impact from coronavirus to continue its failing streak.
    True.
    But #1
Folding phones will be made in limited quantities
    #2
I’d be making them in S.Korea to ensure QC
