  • Apple suggests it won't sell Apple silicon to other companies

The only way I can see Apple doing so, is something like Apple Silicon to enable the Apple Store on TVs.  It would better allow Apple to control the user experience and maintain security.

    ....
    Edit

I can also see Apple CarPlay benefiting from Apple Silicon.  When you own the hardware it’s easier to control the product (software) roadmap.
The “problem” is auto manufacturers would be locked into Apple’s ecosystem.  Apple would need to offer additional perks to get them to do so.  It would make things simpler though...

That would allow a push into premium speaker systems to cars, but add to antitrust concerns.  But, as long Apple offered compatibility to other systems (Boses etc.) it wouldn’t be a dealbreaker.  An example of a benefit, audio output could be calibrated to where people are located within the vehicle to improve sound quality.

  • Apple researching using two iPads simultaneously for notebook-style computing

That would be the price of a premium laptop, but lacks a useable OS.

  • Apple Twitter account hacked in Bitcoin scam campaign

    Total $110,000
    Cost of 1 bitcoin = $9,200

Assuming 1 bitcoin per stupid person.  There are 12 stupid people that fell for this scam.  I would have expected more...

Congratulation humanity!  You’re smarter than I thought you were.

  • Amnesty International loses case against iPhone spyware firm NSO

Many countries have concluded journalism is equivalent to terrorism, and that activists (even nonviolent) are the enemies.

Those governments are the customers of NSO.

I’m sure the US government is one of NSO’s best customers... except we’ll explain away the purchases as necessary for the war on drugs and human trafficking.

If we stay the course, we’ll be adding scientists to the “watch” list.

  • LinkedIn blames bug for clipboard snooping discovered by iOS 14

Apple dropped the ball.  Apps should never have been allowed to access the clipboard without the users permission.

Apple then made excuses as it being ‘intended behavior’.

That said, Apps frequently do things they’re not supposed to like collect location data, or send information unencrypted.

I install as few apps as possible and use websites instead.  Location services are disabled unless needed for a trusted app (banking).

Every App in this list is permanently banned.  I don’t care if it’s 50 years from now, they will NEVER be installed on one of my devices.

There are no accidents only business models.  They will violate users privacy again.  Guaranteed!  I’ve stopped counting how many times Facebook had an oops.  Their ban extends to their website...
