  • Breaking down Apple's AirPods Pro: 8 features that set them apart

I've beat up on AirPods in the past but I have to say these are pretty solid. They feel much more secure in my ears and I don't think the active noise canceling has been reviewed fairly in some of the videos I seen. I had them on in my office, which has an open floor plan, and I didn't hear a thing going on around me - with my head down facing the screen I couldn't even tell I had 20 people around me talking and doing their thing.

  • Amazon is watching and reviewing Cloud Cam security footage

    Surprised!!

Apple please hurry up and take Home seriously! I'm at the point of thinking Apple needs to acquire some home security companies and make these spyware devices irrelevant. Like Siri, iPhone and podcasts, this whole industry was Apple's idea and they're laying back allowing everyone in.

And cry me a river about the Siri thing. All information was anonymous and untraceable. Apple could release these recordings to the public and it would do diddly-squat!
Unlike spyware companies like Facebook and Google who know who your children are, where you live and what you purchase.
Why do you think Apple will be any different outside of the fact that in light of this Apple may more explicitly tell you that humans will periodically review footage to ensure the AI engine is correctly identifying what it it was programmed to identify? The human involvement won't change.

  • Editorial: Arguing over iPhone 'Right to Repair' is good, but a solid middle-ground is nee...

I've said it before and I'll say it again - there is no justifiable reason Apple can give for charging $600 on a 32gb memory upgrade and nearly $1000 for a 64gb upgrade. That's just out of control. The Mac Mini $1000 base but goes up to $1600 for maxed out memory...a 60% increase in cost when for it could be done under for under $200 by a 3rd party.

  • Apple compares iOS updates to kitchen renovations in motion to dismiss iPhone slowdown law...

"homeowners who have let a building contractor into their homes to upgrade their kitchens, thus giving permission for the contractor to demolish and change parts of the houses." - okay, but the intent is that that upgrade will improve the kitchen on how it looks and functions...I've had my renovations done on my home and in each instance the contractors have noted that "if we do X, then this is what happens to Y, do you still want to do X". . . I've never had a contractor make the executive decision that in order to bring hot water more efficiently to the kitchen they'll just reduce the flow of it to other parts of the house and I'll just have to live with not having a hot shower...Apple essentially made that executive decision and felt like they didn't need to inform user of what they would be giving up in order to have improved battery performance or that without the update and reduced performance there would be safety issue with the battery...it wasn't an unforeseen side effect, Apple knew what they were doing and consciously decided against transparency to the end user. Users have free will and should decide if they want to stay with Apple knowing where they stand as customers and the lack of transparency
