  • Siri for iOS 18 to gain massive AI upgrade via Apple's Ajax LLM

Does that mean Siri suddenly understands Dutch? If not, any “massive upgrade” has zero value for me and Siri remains switched off like the past few years.
No offense but this is somewhat niche…
Microsoft Copilot is shipping with wide language support - Dutch included. Apple is trying to run a global company but only support US. This also happened with iPhone 14. The device had 1 USP (SOS calls) and it didn't work outside North America. No wonder the Chinese are moving to products supporting their language and region.

  • Under-screen Face ID allegedly pushed back to 2026 iPhone 18 Pro

If Apple wanted to boost sales they would do it now,
Why wouldn't Apple want to boost sales right now? Did Cook really plan to sidetrack Apple on a car and let Microsoft become the most valuable company? Was he angry on EU for forcing a minor update to iPhone 15 with USB C after he succeeded in keeping iPhone 12/13/14 the same?

Cook is penny-pinching but he is not running a socialist enterprise. He would love to boost sales but he can't. Michael Dell suggested that Apple should give shareholders their money back. Cook is doing exactly that.

  • Apple Vision Pro a big hit in enterprise

Apple Marketing positioned AVP as a gadget for personal productivity (home and office). But instead of seeing AVP as a gadget for watching dino movies, we have 60% of Fortune 500 companies looking at AVP as a professional tool ready for enterprise solutions. 60% of Fortune 500 after 3 months is outstanding. Customers get AVP.

The last brainstorm on enterprise at Apple Marketing probably ended like this: "we should do Xserve socks".

  • Browser developers gripe about Apple promoting them in the EU

    The EU is terrible.
They regulate everything out to oblivion.
Either start voting or stop complaining.

  • New iPad Pro rumored to debut with M4 chip

It doesn't make sense to ship any AI product before WWDC. There is no new iPadOS/AI to make use of that new AI power.
Even worse for Air as it will be obsolete on arrival.

Launching M4 now will make MBA M3 "the last student computer without AI". It is, but Apple shouldn't put back-to-school sales at risk.
Same for iPhone. We're 4-5 months from next gen. No way that Apple will go full Osborne and kill all shipping products now without new products.

WWDC should be XCode AI + frameworks using very limited memory + the message that everything is possible with 18 TOPS and 6-8 GB as that is A16/M3.
A18/A18 Pro/M4 can deliver a new level of performance but iPhone has to be first.
