  • iPhone 15 rumored to get much bigger batteries

Doing more than adding a 3nm SoC ≠ adding all features. Find a more reasonable middle ground or just keep being disappointed due to unrealistic expectations.

I didn't say that 15 Pro would be limited to 3nm. I said:  "3nm with better GPU and camera on Pro, Dynamic Island on regular iPhone, USB C for all, Wifi 6E for Pro (no real benefit to most),...". Did you read any of it?

Seems my comment on battery size was pretty realistic. The Weibo user has now updated the comment saying that battery changes are not to be expected. https://www.ithome.com/0/703/705.htm.

Why? 15 Pro is about to get a 3nm chip using LESS power. Samsung reduced battery size from S21 to S22. Apple could do the same.
With 15 Pro being all about A17 there really is no reason to change design, display, or battery size this year.
Unless you work directly on the iPhone at Apple and here divulging design and production secrets there is no reasonable way you can know that there is “no reason” to make changes to the iPhone 15’s “design, display, or battery” and that Apple will only detail and promote they A17 chip as the only new feature this year in your “all about” comment.
I don't expect Apple to add all features to a single product generation. Why should they? iPhone 14 was an embarrassing "you get SOS coverage in 2 countries and crash detection if you car is really old". This year... 3nm with better GPU and camera on Pro, Dynamic Island on regular iPhone, USB C for all, Wifi 6E for Pro (no real benefit to most),...

99.6% of users are not going to spend hours shooting photo. Display, 5G, and processing are what uses energy. Processing is going to be more efficient. Margins are being affected by 3nm and lenses. Massively increased battery capacity will add bulk and cost for no good reason.

Well... we will have to see :-)

  • Apple iPhone 15 chip manufacturing may shift to a less expensive track

I’ll be following this closely as I’m not upgrading this year but may next year. Or may not.

If you upgrade, then iPhone 15 Pro is the one to buy. iPhone 15 might get Dynamic Island, but it will deliver performance and battery life matching iPhone 12. If you don't already own an iPhone 12/13/14 and feel iPhone 15 Pro will be too expensive, then just buy an iPhone 12. With 5G, OLED, 2 lenses, great performance, and Magsafe it checks most boxes.

  • Mac Pro M2 review - Maybe a true modular Mac will come in a few more years

With Intel shipping PCI Gen 5 (double bandwidth), latest Xeon delivering +2x multicore performance, no GPU-support, the removal of ECC memory, and no way of upgrading... are we looking at the last in a series that started with Mac II?

Should Cook have axed it like Jobs discontinued Newton, servers, and printers? Why didn't he? They have been doing their best not to upgrade the Mac Pro for more than a decade. With all the benefits of Apple Silicon then be honest about "we're no longer in the modular workstation market".
