Why Apple uses integrated memory in Apple Silicon -- and why it's both good and bad

The biggest strength from wintel is they’re standardized, but for every standard, they’re limiting themselves. Intel does want something like Apple’s UMA, but imagine building a PC like that. No customer will be happy. -
Why Apple uses integrated memory in Apple Silicon -- and why it's both good and bad

That mindset typically carries into other areas of life too: why doesn't everyone speak the same language, worship the same god, look the same, etc, etc. They feel this need for everything to be the same, and for some reason want to force everything to be that way. I'd really like to know the reason why, because for myself, diversity is what makes life interesting. And in both nature and technology, it's proven to have great benefits for survival and progress.

Why Tesla can get by without CarPlay but other car makers can't

You would hope this is true, and it is, unless you really, really want to watch movies and play games while you're driving. In that case vehicular suicide is readily available. Here's just one of thousands I found…
"Tesla charges $99 a year for its premium connectivity, but it doesn't limit people from using navigation or games."
Games? That's the thing they chose to give for free (aside from the basics)? Most people who can afford a Tesla and have kids will likely have bought them a much better portable gaming system. -
Father of modern VR says that Apple's headset is 'so good'

I just have an exact idea, where to -live life for my own- ends and where -having my life being lived- begins. iPhone is a borderline technology already, just look at the people around you. Still I wish you all to have a great time and superb entertainment with it.
VR is different though in that it'll likely only become a replacement/augmentation for home entertainment devices, where you're already doing an isolated activity. Though AR certainly has the potential to cause the problem to get worse, especially once it becomes integrated into regular glasses and contact lenses.
