  • Spotify raising premium plan prices in US to try to stay profitable

Regardless of the financial state of Spotify. It runs circles around Apple Music. Just a better recommendation and playlist experience.

Yeah, sadly agreed. I tried Apple Music and really really wanted to like it, since I’m pretty invested in the Apple ecosystem and like most of Apple’s other products. But for me Spotify was just a lot better.

  • Brydge relaunches in a new venture with old executives

Welcome to American capitalism, where members of the C suite are always rewarded, regardless of how they perform. What could possibly go wrong?

  • Apple raises iCloud+ pricing in the UK and other markets

Apple already overcharges for storage. It’s absolutely ridiculous that they’re now increasing their storage fees.

  • Apple Podcasts gets big improvements with expanded categories & more

Adding more categories really doesn’t make up for the fact that the basic functionality of the app is subpar. I use it regularly mostly because it would be too much of a pain in the rear to export all of my usage / listening history to another app (and also I’m fully invested in the Apple ecosystem).

Something I’ve wanted to see for a long time (and which is available in most other podcast apps out there) is the ability to play podcasts in oldest to newest order, while showing them in newest to oldest order.

  • Latest chapter of $2 billion Apple Watch patent battle ends in mistrial

I'm tired of patent trolls. Some are funded by investment companies, hoping to make a quick buck. Ultimately, it's the lawyers that win at the end of the day, and everyone else suffers because of it. We are losing our way.
Masimo isn’t a patent troll. They’re suing based on actual tech which they developed. I’m not saying that they’re right in their assumption that Apple stole their tech. But they’re not just sitting on a patent for something they didn’t actually develop.
