Epic Games argues Apple has app monopoly, should make iOS more like macOS
The gas analogy is dumb. Electronic devices run on electricity.
Apple doesn’t get a cut of our electric bill, unless paying with Apple Card, in which case they take the industry standard for processing the payment. For credit card payment processing, it’s been a couple percent if I recall correctly.
For digital distribution, the industry standard has been 30%. And it’s slowly been coming down in the typical race to find bottom… and subsequently a quest to subsidize the revenue to cover costs / lost profits. -

Lead times suggest Pacific Blue iPhone 12 Pro models are most popular
Actually, it just means Apple didn’t anticipate well enough for the demand of these particular models. If 100 people want it, but Apple made 5 and it took X number of weeks to deliver one of them... that does not compare well to the 100000 of the regular iPhone 12 that Apple cranks out every two days. It’s not even a valid data point for anything other than - Apple is supply constrained for whatever reason on those models.
Apple will tell us sometime next quarter or next year what is the most popular model. Just like they do every years. -

Apple's block of Xcloud & Stadia game streaming apps is at best consumer-hostile
Have any of you played on a game streaming system? Compared it to a console running a game locally? Compared those to gaming on a mobile device?
The lag still exists in streamed games. Until we are 100% fiber to the home with 1gbps synchronous or faster internet connections, a streamed game experience for the end user will pale in comparison to the other user experiences. This has little to do with monopolies but more physics and Apple’s desire have the best user experience possible.
