  • New iPad Pro review roundup: impressive performance held back by iPadOS

Exactly. Apple has the wrong priorities. They keep producing faster iPad’s, but speed/performance is a non-issue. I never had a slow Apple device, even after using it for years. iPadOS is the blocker and Apple keeps implementing incremental improvements and seems to lack courage to do some radical improvements.
Come on Apple, the file system and the multi-tasking is a joke in iPadOS for years. I am really done with iPad with iPadOS and prefer to have a MBP with touch screen running MacOS instead. For the record, I have an iPad Pro and really like it, but I daily experience the limitations and always come back to using my MBP instead. It’s a shame as the iPad has much more potential if, finally, Apple puts off the gloves.

  • Siri for iOS 18 to gain massive AI upgrade via Apple's Ajax LLM

Does that mean Siri suddenly understands Dutch? If not, any “massive upgrade” has zero value for me and Siri remains switched off like the past few years.

Siri is a joke and switched off for years as it cannot understand even basic sentences in my language. It is many years behind Google Assistant. I don’t think an AI label will change much here.
What remains is calculator for the iPad. Hura but overdue for many years and not even worth talking about it.
Dutch is listed as one of the supported languages, but I suspect you need to keep the requests simple for a while yet. "Remind me (about THING at TIME)" "Set an appointment (for THING at TIME)," "What's next on my calendar," "how far away is (PLACE) by car," those sort of practical commands.

For me as a native English speaker, Dutch can be challenging. I was just in Holland earlier this month, and could manage only very basic phrases.

Maar ik vind het leuk! :)
    Your Dutch is great!

The point is that Google Assistant does work perfectly in Dutch for years. Apple has a long way to go to catch up. Which is a shame in itself as they really had an opportunity to lead when they launched Siri years ago.

And I don’t get excited from a long overdue Calculator for iPad nor from an irrelevant stock app. The bar for innovation seems to be lower and lower at WWDC.

  • Apple rolls out minor updates to iWork apps

iWorks is a joke. Just another hobby of Apple to keep people in the ecosystem. Only maintenance updates, no cross platform compatibility, zero innovation.

  • macOS 15 will get a big AI boost: what to expect at WWDC 2024

No need for AI. Better release the M3 27 inch iMac. Long overdue Tim.
