Apple privately described Android as a 'massive tracking device'
From the slide...
Google New privacy allows combining user data across all of Google's services
Ah, this explains why YouTube two-factor authentication dropped the texting a code option (visible but grayed out) and only allows 2FA via YouTube on another device. They're linking all of our devices.
Isn't this similar to ONE of the creepy things that Uber did and got into trouble for? -
Apple deal makes Google "seamless and easy" to use -- CEO
kkee said:Google is still the best search engine, even the word 'google' is synonym to web search. Yes, plenty of other alternatives, and switching is easy. But Apple always has a soft spot for the the best.
No it isn't and all have similar biasses.
Search engines return what they "thinks" I want and not what I search for. The AI are too marketing focused and not researched (find obscure/hard to find stuff on the Internet) focused. -
Google did what it could to stifle Apple's search efforts, show court documents
Apple's just biding their time. Once contracts expire and w/this case expediting their modification/termination; I'm willing to bet we'll see a Siri (aka ChatGPT style) search that will stop telling us to open Safari to see the results but they'll make sure it is fully baked so as not to repeat Map's introduction fiasco. Guessing browser base search was never in Apple's plans and that they have been happy to let Google fund their own demise.
Analyst keep saying Apple is behind or late to come up to speed in the AI race. As with everything they do, the technology (LLMs) weren't ready for prime time, yet.
I'm excited to see what they introduce and bet it works across MacOS, iOS, WatchOS and TvOS. -
Apple could spend $5B on servers to catch up in AI race
danox said:Yep, Apple’s gonna buy Nvidia AI servers, when they have everything in house to build their own and learn more from the experience, Nvidia, Intel, and AMD servers are barn burners. I don’t think Apple will go down that path not at that wattage when then can build their own without the need for additional coolant fluid.

https://www.reddit.com/r/hardware/comments/17esez1/exclusive_nvidia_to_make_armbased_pc_chips_in/ Opps, Nvidia wants to make Arm chips I think that cancels them out.
My thought too.
Could you imagine an announcement of Apple Silicon AI. -
15-inch MacBook Air demand drops significantly, says Kuo
Demand is probably dropping b/c we (I) don't have an immediate reason to upgrade my M1Max MacBook Pro.
Why, b/c it doesn't have Intel inside. For me my MacBook Pro doesn't heat up like the previous Intel versions and the fans don't kick on. My office is finally nice and quiet again.
For my son, his new M2 MacBook should last him through college.
I probably won't bother upgrading my MacBook Pro or iPad Pro until micro LED is released.
