  • Apple researching how to make a 'Star Trek' communicator badge

Isn't this what the Humane Ai Pin just took a swing and a miss at?

Is it me or does it seem like Apple is trying to implement all of the Star Trek devices? What's next a tricorder?

  • Apple FineWoven case review: Not the leather replacement we were hoping for

If looked at quickly it appears ok and is very tightly woven. That said, it did not look like it would be very durable and would quickly wear after sliding in/out of jean pockets.

I was going to buy one, better than nothing, right, no. I change my mind and decided nothing is actually better than this cheap looking and feeling case.

I'm going to Cricut a custom PPF sheet to cover the back and sides to provide a slightly better grip and call it a day. The new titanium iPhone feels so lite that it would be a crime to cover it in a case.

  • New firmware released for AirPods Pro, AirPods, & AirPods Max

What you are calling "Build Number" (very confusing), Apple calls Firmware version.

Firmware updates are delivered automatically while your AirPods are charging and in Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac that's connected to Wi-Fi. The iOS device or Mac must be "Connected" to WiFi not the headphones.

  • New FineWoven cases are here to protect your iPhone 15 & iPhone 15 Pro

I may change my mind when I see these in person but right now not a fan of the texture or colors.

    Bring back leather.

Relatively few internal differences between the 13" and 15" models?  We were told that developing the 15" model involved all sorts of major engineering challenges.
There are certainly challenges, but to what are you referring?
Apple did explain in an interview about the creation of MBA 15" (https://www.tomsguide.com/news/macbook-air-15-inch-exclusive-how-apple-made-the-worlds-thinnest-15-inch-laptop): 2 extra speakers and new adhesive behind the display took 12 months extra...
Despite your snark and an article that doesn't cover any real detail, they did state that,"It's a lot more difficult of an engineering challenge than most people might appreciate. Picking up this system by the corner and just holding the product, we make sure that it's stiff and durable and really presents that level of Apple quality that everybody comes to expect from us." You may not appreciate that, but I do. There's a reason why it's thicker, just as why the 17" PowerBook was such a different beast compared to its 13" and 15" brethren. It's not just slapping some bigger versions of components together.

Yes, there is some challenge to designing a "thinner" 15" laptop case but the rest of it is from the parts bins. The logic board in the 13", 15", Mac Mini and iMac are or should be near identical. Leaving only the addition of a larger battery.

Let's not make it sound like more than it is.
