  • New 'Service' battery message in iOS pushes consumers toward official replacement

I am on Apple side here. Third-party batteries blowing up iPhones and tarnishing brand. This right to repair is a two way stick. One side is good for users because third-party replacements parts are cheap, but unfortunate for Apple because once something goes wrong it’s Apple’s fault.
I get your point but for those that do third party repair, it makes it easier for people. Some Apple Stores are far away and one might not want to drive 2 or more hours just to get their battery replaced by Apple and having to pay Apple's Tax. If one wants to replace their battery, they have to be careful where they get their batteries from. If you get it from a source you don't trust then you might have a problem and to follow instructions on the iFixit website. I think that Apple went overboard with this, blocking battery heath for third party batteries. One just has to be careful where they go to get their display's replaced or battery replaced (do their research) if they don't want to go with Apple.

#237  12" MacBook. Well, outside of a store I've never seen a 12" MB in the wild. Not one. Not Ever.

So "adorable"? Apparently not by many.
Sorry man, I see them all over NYC. Huge with sales, marketing, executives.

I've been thinking about getting one for my significant other, who suffers from ME/CFS and finds her 13" Pro a bit too much to haul around. Just wondering what the best way to work out a trade with someone might be, or if she should just be on an iPad Pro.
You should be able to snag one from Swappa. They sell MacBooks. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page for Used MacBook Retina. Swappa is like eBay but just for electronics. They don't allow junk. I've gotten some excellent deals on iPhones there and even sold my iPhone 6 for a very good price.

    Hope it helps.

I agree, sad why Apple discontinued the MacBook, it might come back later and better, who knows.

I wish Apple would just sort out their issue with nVidia. Not knocking ATI Radeon's here, but it would be nice to have the choice and it's Apple causing the block, not nVidia.
Simply not true. This is Nvidia who don’t allow their processors to be programmed at the “Metal” level. Apple as a computer producer has right to access and control a processor using up to the most granular elements of the processor’s instruction set. As such, Nvidia is a consumer company. It produces some consumer graphics cards, mostly for gaming, mining and alike. It is not an “OEM partner” to Apple like Intel, AMD, or Samsung.
You can read the article, Apple's management doesn't want Nvidia support in macOS . .  which goes into depth that's it's Apple, Not Nvidia who doesn't want support.

Source? I don’t know why they don’t exist on Macs, but I’ve read it’s a dispute over drivers. What details do you have that settle the matter?

See the link I posted above. Hope it helps.

So what? The whole article you linked explains how Nvidia has spectacularly failed to be an OEM Partner. It just supports the fact that Nvidia is nothing more than a consumer graphics card company.
The article goes into the history of Apple and nVidia and gives some background which isn't bad to share. I too wish Apple could support nVidia on the Mac platform. All Apple has to do is say let's forget the disputes of the past and hash out a deal with nVidia if they choose to do so.

  • 13 hidden iOS 13 features you didn't know about

I was a little confused by some of the feature as Apple also released iPadOS. Are all the features stated in the article in iOS 13 or just iPadOS?
