  • Teardown shows AirPods 4 still unfixable by the public

SO... which brand of wireless earbuds are fixable by the general public? Go ahead, I'll wait...

Listen: I realize that the Right to Repair niche and the iFixIt gang would like to return us to the 1960s and Radio Shack, but the vast majority of consumers have voted otherwise with their wallets. So give it a rest! Hey, I remember the days when I could do most of my own repair work on my car, now impossible because most car functionalities are computer monitored and controlled, but the car I drive today is FAR more reliable than the self-repairable cars of my youth.
There is literally a computer in all modern cars that diagnoses the problem for you.
you totally missed the point but carry on LOL

We all already have smartphones in our pockets - with AR glasses managed wirelessly from those phones, we could increasingly leave them there.  Such a product would not only allow for a gazillions of new use cases, but it would also help Apple sell yet more iPhones.
Not sure if a wireless connection is secure enough/stable enough to handle the demands of VR/AR wearables, but it might be right path for AR-only glasses.
I would guess Apple experimented with the iPhone route. Wireless would most likely not be feasible. Wired could work if the iPhone could support the processor demands and potential heating issues. And iPhone battery life taking a serious hit. I mean the current AVP battery can only handle 2 hours and it's huge compared to an iPhone battery. Maybe in the future an AVP can be tethered to an iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

I trust Apple did everything possible to try different ideas before settling on the current version. I love my AVP and look forward to future releases.

  • Apple designers shed light on the new iPhone 16 Camera Control button

Honestly it’s a gimmick.  I don’t think it will last many iterations of iPhone. Half press is not easy and feels nothing like a real camera half press.
Agreed. It's a bit tough to get the hang of it. The positioning as others mentioned seems a bit too far up the frame.

The half press is really a soft squeeze not an actual press; I'm starting to figure that out now. After spending last night at a concert taking pictures and videos I realize it does slow the picture taking process down if you wanna fiddle with settings while in the moment. However, once you pick some settings it's just taking photos or videos at that point.

The confusion isn't helped by how Apple Intelligence will not be some specific feature that you turn on, or that you launch like an app. Instead, Apple Intelligence will seep into everything.
    That’s exactly what I don’t want.
y'all realize Apple's Apple Intelligence will be a feature that's available for you to choose to use, right? Did you watch the keynote? Or just assuming? yikes!
Yes I watched the keynote at WWDC, and the iP16 rollout, and I’ve read a lot of other material online. I am very aware of what it is and what it will do. My question is DID YOU READ THE PART I QUOTED?

LOL why are you shouting? I'm not your domestic partner for you to be abusive with. Save that anger for your home life.

I said what I said and you can't handle it.  AI will be on device and you can choose to use the feature. And the user will be asked for permission to use ChatGPT. We all saw this why are you short circuiting?

Out of interest, why would this version of Mac OS have a reputation for breaking existing Apps?

I wasn’t aware of any major shifts in the OS that would cause it.

There aren't any major shifts, it's just people making comments without proof or first hand knowledge.
