M1 MacBook Air review: nearly as transformative as the original
Prediction:
2021 massive redesign, all made possible by the fundamental change Apple Silicon brings. Current Air was designed for a fan.
Next fall:
M2
13”-13.3” Air, minimal bezels, closer in size to the 12” MacBook. Fully designed around no fan.
14.1” MBP. M2 eliminates the need for 2 fan design, so there’s only 1 model instead of 2 separate models. Hopefully 4 ports.
Before next fall:
16” gets M1X, only needs 1 fan.
After next fall:
16” MBP. Bezels are reduced. Overall footprint reduced. 1 fan. M2X. -
Apple's MagSafe Duo Charger now available for $129
Japhey said:MacQuadra840av said:For $19, you can buy Apple's USB-C charger and charge your phone at the full 20W with the lightning cable. For $129 + $49, you can charge at only 14W. For $129 + $19, you can charge at a measly 11w. This being a product that requires two hands to get your phone off the magnet without causing your watch to fly across the room. And a product so cheaply made, only the cheap plastic material holds the two sides together. Who would fall for this? Talk about getting ripped off.
And, I have a $20 clear case from Amazon. Don’t know if MagSafe will work with it. You gotta have that $50 Apple case + the $129 MagSafe Duo + a $19 or $49 power adapter, all to gain consolidating from 2 separate chargers to one.
I will buy almost anything Apple makes, but I will not be buying this.

How Apple Silicon Macs can supercharge computing in the 2020s
Nomenclature Hypothesis:
Now that AS is coming to desktop, I don’t think they are going to hide the specs on Notebook and Desktop. I also don’t think it will just be the A14T, and you have to use Geekbench to see the clock and cores.
I think you will have just like you have now with Intel listed on MBs and iMacs.
2 option example for 16-inch MacBook Pro:
Standard Model for $2,399 - “Apple 14th gen (A14Z) 3.0 GHz 10-core processor (6 high power and 4 high efficiency)”
Next model for $2,799 - “Apple 14th gen (A14Z) 3.4 GHz 14-core processor ( 10 high power and 4 high efficiency)”
I wonder if they will mention turbo boost or peak clock speed as well.
iMac would be same, but A14T series. You’d have 2 or 3 options.
