  • The new MacBook Pro: Why did Apple backtrack on everything?

I was shocked to see the new MacBook Pro. It really looks fat. Heavy.
Some of that extra volume is for internal airflow.  The larger the airflow volume the less the fans have to work, saving battery life.

  • Apple just now feeling global chip shortage, while rivals suffer

Wave7 Research.  Hmm.  Looks like a one man show out of Kansas City with no real insight or connections trying to steer business it’s way via media propagation.  I guess it’s sort of working since AI picked it up.  But this is not real information nor news.

The pro has a fifth GPU core though.
I am going to assume that this is the same piece of silicon used in the regular iPhone 13 and that the fifth GPU core in the Pro is activated through a firmware modification.

    Anyone know differently?

Smells of classic market manipulation, a dump then pump of the stock price all within 24 hours.  Would love to see reporters follow the money on this.

The iPhone Pros are amazing feats of engineering and product design. They also define a new standard for functional overkill for 95% of smartphone buyers. That's not to say that it's a problem for Apple to have a product that is as close to "no compromise" (other than weight and size) as one could ever hope for. They can afford to build it, there is a active market for it, and they have plenty of other options in their portfolio. If the iPhone was pizza, the Pro Max would be Pantera's "The Hunk" pizza with its 5 1/2 pounds of toppings.
The pizza you describe as comparable to iphone pro max is simply disgusting. Please respect the feelings (and knowledge) of the italian people.
While early versions of pizza can be traced to Italy and especially France, where tomato and cheese on top of bread were staples of the poor, the modern version of pizza we all know and love (or hate) originated in the US.  Gli italiani non capiscono la pizza!
