The whole foldable thing just seems like a useless gimmick to me.
All technology seems like useless gimmicks until someone succeeds in making an innovation on it.
Not at all...what purpose does a folding phone, tablet serve, or laptop serve? For what? How does it improve the device beyond what it already does? New tech can be innovative if it improves the product but otherwise it's just a gimmicky selling point to tech nerds who think it's just "cool".

    Absolutely right!
And for me, the “innovation” in this case is just a mechanical experiment……

  • Setapp plans to launch EU-only alternative iOS App Store

My opinion is that Apple should completely replace iOS with Android for all European customers. This will enable European customers to have access to third party app stores via Android in iPhones. All European customers going forward should be able to obtain only Android, not iOS, on iPhones. This will make Apple fully compliant with EU law, but none of the Apple ecosystem will be available to EU customers. Hey, there's NOTHING wrong with Android, right? So it's a win-win for everyone. iPhone sales should skyrocket in Europe because Android is "practically perfect in every way," like Mary Poppins.

Why should I buy then an iPhone? To use Android? Are you crazy? Never in my life.
I am living in EU, but I will never use a store other than AppStore.

  • Instagram chief's mic drop: 'Android's now better than iOS'

Personally I much prefer Android but Android comes in infinitely more flavors than iOS so it's impossible to have used them all to any real degree. The same applies to iOS and the changes from one versión to another.

I'd say that over recent years, iOS has taken a huge amount of influence from Android. Although it is a two way street, it definitely looks like Apple is loosening it's grip on key areas like personalisation.

For me, as someone who constantly has to dip into iOS to resolve issues, it can be very frustrating to see how some things seem so kludgy there.

That could be due to my wife's particular situation/configuration or how certain apps 'behave' but it doesn't feel intuitive to me.

I have just the same problem with my girl-friend’s Android phone

  • China could 'weaponize' TikTok, so another Senator calls for ban

You think it’s a bad thing, then pass a law and ban it. Don’t demand Apple and Google do it for you. That is YOUR job after all.

    Absolutely right!

  • Telegram plans premium service after topping 700M active users

I don't trust Telegram, and I never did it.

For the legislators: Make laws to ensure user’s privacy. Don’t waste time on the chargers they are useing with their phones
