  • Saudi journalist used Apple Watch to record own interrogation and execution, report says [...

Typical...not to sound too cynical...but as you look around the world, (all hemispheres), there are no real wars left.

    Except in the Middle East!
    .....
Islam needs a Reformation. Similar to what happened to Christendom in the 16th century. (You know, where God told us to burn more Catholics b/c it was 'cold' outside!)  s/
They have OIL and the West can't help themselves but to continue to meddle and stir in the region. Two Iraq wars, endless supply of weapons and military expertise to Israel for decades, the support of Middle Eastern dictators (Shah of Iran, Saddam Hussain of Iraq etc). Whilst it's hard to understand the sectarian conflicts amongst the various Middle Eastern countries, the West is hardly without liabilities with its divide and conquer strategy.

  • Apple launched investigation into Bloomberg's China hack claims, 'found nothing'

Another politically motivated 'WMD' story through the media. How much more sinister and devious can the political elites get? Remembering Bolton was also in the administration that fanned up that WMD story. Shameful!

  • Apple joins other tech giants denouncing Australia encryption backdoor proposals

Just going to show that every government desires access to private data. The more complex the society is, the more relevant these accesses become to the relevant authorities.

There is overwhelming evidence that Huawei phones are being used by the Chinese to spy on Americans according to US senator Tom Cotton.
Based on what evidence, reminds me of Iraq and WMD?

How come Europe hasn't banned them or even hinted at banning them, surely the security risk would have been shared?

This is all about politics, USA doesn't want any big brand Chinese firms in the U.S. market, it's all down to protectionism in my opinion.
Actually, partly politics, mostly economic supremacy. With the looming rollout of mobile 5G network and services, US is fighting tooth and nail to restrict China's ascendency in this field and overtake US's dominance. Blocking Chinese firms in the US and forcing allies (Australia and Japan) to do the same. It's so damn obvious. Whilst protecting one's own industry is fine, but the way the US is doing it is devious. If there's anyone want to talk about IT spying, let's start with the CIA and NSA for the last half a decade and more.

  • Apple culls thousands of apps in China amid attacks from state media

Well done Apple! Lest Western critiques come again to criticise Apple. Permitting and promoting online gambling is akin to the opium trade of the 19th century, it's a tool to destroy a society and country.
