Unfortunately, a very common phrase. Usually not in reference to an actual clown tho. 

Well, I grabbed a username just in case.

 I got in on the gmail thing fairly early back when it was by invitation only. I still couldn’t get the username I wanted. 

Drawing an analogy to a bricks and mortar store; where the iPhone is Macy’s.

This would be like some home based  artisan who makes silk scarves walking into Macy’s and setting up a table to sell her scarves. Worse yet, they’d  be getting Macy’s to endorse their product, get Macy’s staff to man the booth 24x7, and use their point of sale system. Then expect to get 100% of proceeds. 

Not bloody likely.

Funny. Our organization, which manages a fleet of over 5,000 phones, went the opposite way. We chose IOS over Android because it offered a more stable environment to administer. We go back a couple of model years in order to manage costs. Right now the iPhone 7 is the model we give out. It’s offered for $0 by the carriers and it’s still good for 2-3 years of business use. 

You lost credibility in my eyes with your “wannabe” comment. I guess you just don’t get the nuance that cheap does not equate to better value.
