  • Security Enclave vulnerability seems scary, but won't affect most iPhone users

I guess it was true. Now that Apple devices are being scrutinized the security loopholes are coming out like anything. Just like the M$ fanboys said. :(

Also, while this attack maynot mean much for most, it just means that iPhones are no longer secure. With the un-patchable Jailbreak + this un-patchable Secure Enclave exploit, it just means that the iPhone has been pwned!!

    FULLY & COMPLETELY!!!

Get used to encrypting your data on your iPhone people
Only affects older devices (did you read at least the article summary?) AND all data on the iPhone is encrypted automatically - you can't turn it on/off.

  • Senator demands Tim Cook be personally accountable for any contact tracing privacy failure...

This guy either didn't read the details of the implementation or didn't understand them (typical politician).

Apple & Google are not "tracking when and where Americans interact with each other".  The API allows tracking if Americans have been close together - NOT WHERE & NOT WHEN!  And this tracking history is only for the last 14 days.

    Politicians...

Will this data be available to LEO?

so many questions ( so many cans of worms) ...
No - you don't know who it was that tested positive.  It only tells you that someone who tested positive (could be anyone) has been near you in the past 14 days.

There is NO personally identifiable information.  There is NO location information.  The only information is that you were in proximity to someone who told the app they tested positive.

  • How to use iCloud Drive Folder Sharing in iOS 13.4 and macOS 10.15.4

    spheric said:
This is a step in the right direction, but it is completely lame that it only works for those with Apple ID and iCloud Drive. If you share a folder to anyone with the link, it should open a webpage with the folder’s contents, and allow them to download from there, just like Dropbox. Instead we have this:

    ...Lame, lame, lame.
Oh yuck. This also means that someone with no more free space in their iCloud Drive (every. single. iPhone/iPad owner I know who hasn't bought an iCloud subscription) will be entirely unable to view the folder.

    Yuck yuck yuck.
Did you read the entire article?  Read the last section titled "The fine print".  The shared folder ONLY occupies space on the owners iCloud Drive.  "Adding" it to your iCloud Drive just makes it accessible to you.

  • What macOS Catalina's 'Relocated Items' are, and how to delete them

Now macOS Catalina has one volume for your data, and a read-only one for the system.

This is a precursor to Macs and iOS devices coming with TWO PHYSICAL drives... one for the system and one for user data. You heard it here first! Parallel reads are faster overall than one serialized read.

No - this is for security.  Apple even touts the feature as such, in the Catalina announcements.
