  • Rio Arc review: An elegant HomeKit-connected heater to keep you warm this winter

    clarknet said:
Nice review.  I am surprised it would not have its own thermostat reporting back to home kit so you could trigger it to come on without a third party thermostat. Am I missing something here?
You can absolutely do this. You don't need an external thermostat at all. BUT some people still like to use them for various reasons. Say you have a home office and the heater is on the opposite wall. Form the desk it gets chilly because of a draft or just a larger room. If you had an Eve Room on your desk, it could trigger the heater to come on when the desk gets cooler, even if the other corner of the room is warmer. It is just an OPTION to have. It has its own thermostat inside and you can use it to see the temperature of your room.

  • PopSockets PopGrip review: Finally, MagSafe delivers a better PopSocket experience

FYI …PopGrip is NOT recommend for use on an MagSafe equipped iPhone without a case. Do not use on a “naked” phone, only use in a “MagSafe” case. It says so right in their website.
Would you mind showing me where? I've scoured the page and I don't see anything that says do not use without a case. FWIW, I've been testing this out for several weeks on a naked iPhone without issue. It holds on just fine, has not damaged the iPhone in any way, and has otherwise worked perfectly. Otherwise I would not have said as much in my review.

  • Pela Apple Watch band review: A sleek, eco-friendly strap with unique lugs

Cases? The article starts off talking about “cases” but then switches to bands. What gives?
Pela as a company identified cases as an environmental problem that hadnt been addressed. Following that it broadened out to other categories. This review was on their watch bands but I wanted to explain where the company had its roots.

  • Belkin BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless Car Charger review: An acceptable MagSafe solution

Nah, this one especially is very light. Holds secure but won’t damage them unless you do something crazy.

Admittedly it works extremely well with HomeKit  BUT I would argue that it’s only a 4 star device due to it’s ugly design and it’s touch screen slider controls that are incredibly hard to adjust with finesse.  If only NEST would integrate better with HomeKit and also had the follow me mode….
I think it looks great! I love the look of it though I don’t like having to use the plastic skirt but the hole in our wall is too large. I dont use the slider controls too much but dont have issues when I do.
