  • Definitely not-CGI 'Ted Lasso' actor says he is a 'normal human man'

Good only knows. So much weird shit being revealed in the world. I mean, he’s probably not a CGI character. But why do so many actors look so unnatural?
The biggest reason why is lighting. In Ted Lasso, they use quite a bit of soft lighting which gives the effect of super smooth skin and other CGI-like photos. This past weekend my wife and I were looking at old photos and it is the exact same. Photos taken with soft lighting, like video shot with it, come off almost fake looking.

  • PlugBug Slim review: Easily pocketable power

Clearly the slim flat shape is the key factor here, to be used in places where more conventionally shaped adapters won't work or would be awkward. The Apple adapter shown looks to be nearly identical to the awkward Echo products adapters I have.

We always want more power, more ports, smaller size, and and cheaper cost. I might prefer the option of a Lightning port over USB-C but that's easily dealt with. The only real CON for me is the lack of a second port. With tight spaces being a concern, charging time wouldn't be for my considerations. Charging two devices simultaneously, albeit more slowly would be of more value to me than charging only one, faster.

I like the aesthetic of this charger, not looking so out of place above the kitchen counter, something that means little to most people.
My biggest issue is you can get a 30W Anker model for $3 less that is just as slim. This is .6” while Anker is .63”. This is narrower than Anker, but it is more money and just as slim.

  • Preorders for retro-inspired Playdate gaming console have opened

Its now sold out, and they locked out anyone ordering from the Uk by not including England as a country.
    Facepalm.
Yeah, Panic has talked about this. Their international shipping provider’s plugin stopped working which blocked many from getting orders in. Or those that did go in had their orders fail. Panic is trying to decide how best to deal with those international orders that were impacted. Obviously they can’t just magically get more units to appear sooner and it wouldn’t be fair to delay others who believed they had their order in on time. Not a fun situation for Panic, but I really feel they tried.

Dang, they went through those preorders fast… 20K units out of the gate.

  • Why you should buy Apple's MagSafe battery pack

Typical Apple…again marketing to sell a product that’s needed because the iPhone battery is not sufficient, milking again the user base …
I pretty strongly disagree with this statement. I easily get through more than a day on a charge on my iPhone but there are times where I’m hitting my battery extra hard (like at a tech conference) or I’m gone all weekend and something that gets me through that is welcomed. It isnt meant to be for daily use because an iPhone can’t make it a day
