  • Review: SanDisk Extreme Pro CFExpress card reader is perfect for photographers with the la...

I have a Nikon Z7 with XQD cards. I'm really not that bothered by the camera to compter data transfer rates. My workflow is at the end of the day, connect the camera to the Mac and start the transfer. At the same time, the Camera will be charged. I can go and shower/eat etc and by the time I'm done, the copy will be done and I can get down to work. Over the past 30+ years, I have made sure that my devices get their batteries charged either before I get fed or while I am doing so. Then I prep my gear for the next day and only then do I look at the results of my days shooting. I'll probably get a CFExpress card but at the moment, the SanDisk reader is just another thing to have to carry with me, and remember to pack away if I'm shifting hotel. The capacity of the cards really does not bother me that much. Shooting 4K video is about 10% of my work. Obviously we all have different use cases and I welcome this media type. Now is Sony was not such a tool of a company and made XQD licensing reasonable then they could have made it more popular. History is repeating itself if you can think back to another media format that was almost a Sony exclusive due to the licensing. They really risk being sidelined yet again.
Obviously we have different workflows, but I hugely appreciate the faster transfer speeds from the card to the computer. I don't always use this, but I use it at my desk and just use USB-C when Im on the go.

I'm sorry, but I can't take you guys seriously when you give a "resounding yes" for a $230 charger and doesn't even charge an Apple Watch, no external other external ports. I love Nomad and their products, and this is a cool concept, but I think there's going to be very few people shelling out that kinda money for something so limited that doesn't charge ALL my Apple devices.
Yup. Also, I wonder if the reviewer would still recommend dropping a cool $230 on this if he actually paid for it with his own money and it wasn’t provided to him.
Sadly this is becoming a problem with Nomad products. They provide free products to "reviewers" and nobody ever has anything useful about the actual function/usability of the product, nor the issues with it being overpriced.
Oh we for sure said they are expensive. I won’t say overpriced because it is hard to associate a cost with a bleeding edge product like this. Between licensing, high quality materials, and the work that goes into a completely new way of charging like this. We said “very high price tag” which is true and that it is hard to decide if that is worth it, which wont be the same answer for everybody. I thought I went into a ton of detail here on how this works, how it is made, the fringe scenarios that pose an issue, etc. I still don’t think this is overpriced though. There are several premium wireless chargers that exist north of $100 — the Courant Catch:2, several of Nomads, Belkin’s Apple line, all are more and don’t have this kind of tech inside. Nomad’s normal Base Station does two devices once, is much smaller, and is a traditional coil design. You are paying a $129 premium for the third device, larger size, and free placement tech.

Absolutely. BUT — that is the reason I’m a tech journalist. I love this stuff. A giant wireless charger that can charge multiple devices that can be placed anywhere? Absolutely sign me up. I’ll drop the money in a heartbeat.

Most eye-opening thing from the video: Andrew had 6 Stand hours but ZERO Exercise minutes! How is that possible? I usually get a minute or two of Exercise in the first 15 minutes I’m awake just from going up and down stairs or taking the garbage out to the street.  ;)
Use a standing desk! Honestly, it is a bit annoying because sometimes I wont get the hour even though Ive been standing at the desk the whole time!

  • Review: VOCOlinc PureFlow is the only HomeKit air purifier you need

Does Dyson's air purifier work the same way?
Dyson doesn't support HomeKit. While Dyson is similarly priced ($400 for the VP02) it only is rated to clean a 400sq ft room while this is rated for 650sq ft and has HomeKit built in.
