Wemo Smart Video Doorbell review: The new HomeKit doorbell of choice
Japhey said:Like I said previously, this will probably be my first smart doorbell. And, like I asked earlier…what material is the outside casing made from? Is it metal? Is it plastic? This information should be included in the review. -

Thread had a max bandwidth of 250 kbps. Streaming HD window requires 5 Mbps sustained.
With Thread enabled device, it's able to "heal" network connectivity and can easily connect with Thread-enabled Wifi routers to establish high bandwidth communication for video using the Matter protocol.
So, yeah, there's a thing. It's not about bandwidth. It's about connectivity.
If it was the former, then this isn't a thing for cameras, unfortunately. Thread does not have the bandwidth for video and doesn't support cameras for the time being. Yes, Thread is able to heal its own network but it is a separate network from the Wi-Fi. Matter also won't support video OR audio at launch.
Either way, Matter is expected to have video support on the second or third iteration and I'm not sure Thread will ever support video. That seems to be the consensus at the moment.

I'm most likely to misplace my wallet nearby, not 50 miles away.
Sigh, we the forgetful always remember this pain (but never the things we're looking for).
