It would be neat if Apple were to integrate some kind of LED based app-context-sensitive keys right into their keyboards, maybe a row way up at the top or something...
I assume you're making a joke...since Apple had the Touch Bar from 2016 to 2021... I loved it, but it was clearly not successful in the market.
Personally, I thought it was a horrendous replacement for the existing F keys (much like cars have replaced buttons and dials with onscreen controls), however it would have been a wonderful addition to them…

  • iPhone 16 Camera Control is the fastest way to take a picture, says Austin Mann

Always excellent to get his feedback as his photography and filmography are of the highest quality. The new controls are definitely something I’m looking forward to when I replace my 15Pro and hopefully Apple works out the niggles in hardware/software as required. Getting the narrow angle lens up to 48MP will be nice as well…

  • iPhone users still aren't rushing to buy the latest models

As @JohnC1959 notes, tech matures. In the 90s and well into the 2000s, I had a general rule that a desktop required replacing in 3-5 years max and when laptops really made it as “useful” devices, it was 2-3 years before their plodding nature and atrocious battery life kiboshed things. Even within that time window, they weren’t great. For myself, Ivy Bridge changed that a fair bit and when I got the 2014 5K iMac fully loaded it lasted 7 wonderful years and a few where it was showing its age. My wife’s still rocking her “Early 2015” MBPro. She will finally upgrade when the M4 models launch.

What’s that got to do with the iPhone? Well, I expect to replace my 15Pro in about four years… either when it becomes noticeably too slow or it can no longer run the present iOS, whichever comes first. It’s coincidence that my model supports Apple Intelligence and I’ll admit to doubting its use to me on a phone. That said, I expect it to be a major upgrade reason when I get around to replacing my M1Max MBPro…

  • FineWoven won't be missed, but it should be remembered

Those FineWoven articles always crack me up. With it being officially September my case is within a few weeks of being a year old and behold! Yeah, it’s underwhelming. It just looks like a case. Appleinsider has been quick to jump on every negative social media post to declare these as some sort of failure but there doesn’t seem to be any first hand experience. Mine is just fine and it isn’t like I treat it gingerly. It’s the first Apple made case that I have gotten that has survived a year. Mind you, I never got a leather one.

Anyway, I really wonder what the difference in usage is that causes other people’s cases to look so terrible and mine to be perfectly fine.
Yeah, personally I really like mine. Those who couldn’t feel and see the quality of the weave and materials are correct in ignoring the product but those who intentionally destroyed it or damaged it make me a bit sad for causing the failure of this product.

  • M4 Mac mini rumored to get a redesign making it smaller than ever before

If the PSU is an external unit, as it is on the M series iMacs, I will not be thrilled. Further, if it’s a proprietary connector I’ll be even less thrilled.
