  • App Store rolls out universal purchase support for Mac apps

There are too many caveats with this feature right now:

    1. you can set only one price (so the iOS version needs to become pricier)
    2. you need to set the same bundle identifier for both apps, developers that already have an iOS and macOS app would probably end to duplicate apps (meaning multiple app reviews for each update) so that old customers continue to get updates.

For developers a macOS versions means extra effort (even with catalyst which requires macOS Catalina) for coding, documentation, website, support and marketing - this means: the iOS and macOS app for the price of the iOS app may not happen. Many iPhone customers use Windows Desktops - they don't want to spend extra money for an included macOS app.

From a developers perspective it would have made more sense if Apple would just allow cross platform app bundles.

Nearly nobody uses the Apple (Magic) Mouse

How do you know, since Apple doesn't release figures for mouse sales?
I know enough (pro) users - none of them use it because of erratic input - of cause there are consumers that may be using it.
Interestingly I observed some consumers using a new Mac with track pad with the default (gesture) configuration - nearly all of them have the problem that they trigger actions without intend.

Nearly nobody uses the Apple (Magic) Mouse - soon MacBook users will need to attach an external keyboard to type efficiently???
Sounds like a very bad idea - I would prefer the MacBook Pro to get a little bit thicker to get more space for key movement...
But hey - at least it will look gorgeous...

  • Apple's earnings warning indicates trouble in China, but everyone should calm down

I think Apple should start to go for market share (means lower cost devices) again, this would also increase services (app sales).
Currently it looks like most iPhone sales are coming from existing customers that upgrade (or don't upgrade).
I don't believe selling iPhone 7 / iPhone 8 at discount helps, because they look old and are comparatively expensive when you look at full screen display devices from other manufacturers.
An iPhone SE with full screen display and Face ID would be great.
A lower cost iPhone X sized device should also drive sales.
