Apple reiterates stance on privacy as a human right in new interview
I remember when the debate, in the mid to late 1990s in the UK, was about privacy and being free from surveillance. By the 2000s every inch of the UK was covered by CCTV cameras, and later we ended up with the dystopian-cautionary-tale-from-hell that is Google, surveilling absolutely every detail about us that they can get their hands on. If this is the trajectory that we’re on, god help us. -

Apple & Samsung tied for top spot in customer satisfaction study
“I’m so happy with my Samsung,” they say while interacting with a Alphabet/Google/Android product.
Yet they don’t seem to realise that Alphabet/Google/Android are advertisers who spy on their every move, and build a detailed profile that they market to companies for the purpose of advertising. This is the greatest intrusion on their private lives imaginable. They are delighted with Samsung because they don’t understand the Alphabet/Google/Android’s business model, because they aren’t adequately informed, neither by Samsung, nor by Alphabet/Google/Android, nor by tech reviewers such as AppleInsider (who I, otherwise, appreciate for their hard work). -
Fingers crossed: Spotify might actually launch lossless audio in 2024

Spotify makes their living from their service, for Apple it's just a part of keeping you in the eco system.Apple makes money by selling computer hardware, software, and services, which are well integrated and make up their ‘ecosystem.’ Still, Apple intends to profit (sooner or later) from each part of the ecosystem, including services like Music. If not, or if any part is not profitable enough, it gets the axe.
