Why would Apple want to micro-manipulate their share price?
I doubt that was a serious question, but in case it was...
i was making a serious point but the question is rhetorical. The calendar presents Apple with plenty of opportunities to speak to investors, including their product launches, at WWDC, etc

Why would Apple want to micro-manipulate their share price? They are already fantastically profitable, incredibly competitive, kick-ass technology, a sky-high valuation, etc. Every year they seem to meet or exceed market expectations. It’s Google that is most threatened by generative AI coming along and decimating search — the foundation of Google’s surveillance-advertising business model.

  • FCC votes to restore net neutrality protections in the United States

More government more censorship less freedom.
I suspect that the majority of "net neutrality" advocates are quite comfortable with government directly - and working hand-in-hand with these same tech companies and carriers - to remove non-government-approved information.
And I “suspect” that freedom in the USA is code for white privileged. Like how the Southern States fought for freedom in the Civil War. Which is why the FCC Republicans named it “internet freedom.” You’d think that such a blatant and transparent attempt to white wash capitalist monopoly legislation paid for by their sponsors would obviously fail. But no, the freedom-craving voters lap that stuff up.

  • Apple's FineWoven case and Apple Watch band lineup may have been cut short

As long as there is beef, there is leather. Beef isn’t going anywhere, so better to utilize what would otherwise go to waste. It’s more efficient use of resources, more respectful to the sacrifice of the animal, and results in better quality products.

I see that there is an industry-sponsored website that argues your exact point. What a coincidence! The website wants to convince us not to trouble our little heads on the subject leather. Still, leather is not merely a by-product of the beef industry. It is an integral part of the business. A significant proportion of the world’s population is vegetarian. I live in a place that is substantially vegetarian with a significant proportion of veganism (no dairy, no eggs etc.). Every bakery has eggless items on sale here. Vegetarianism and veganism are on the rise in the West, driven by health, environmental, and ethical reasons. On the other hand, meat eating increases as populations get better off, notably in China.

  • Apple Notes in iOS 18 looks to up the ante with Microsoft OneNote

I use Apple Notes as a general purpose notes app to replace Evernote that I tended not to use. I rely on Apple Notes a lot. I discovered Notion about a year ago. Now Notion is my heavy-duty Notes app for major projects. Highly recommended, they have a generous free tier. Apple is the average person’s day-to-day note taking. With a billion iOS users, they are catering to the masses with their default apps.
