I'm not a fan of metaverse pivot, just making the argument from their perspective. But it does involve facebookmeta's own hardware, Quest et al costs real money. Although to your point data harvesting and advertising still seem to be very much part of the revenue plansauxio said:

I support the sentiment. But just to give a perspective from other side, with ATT decimating their ad revenue (Yay!) he had to pivot. It is also well documented that he wants to pivot to something where another company cannot control its fortunes as much as Apple does now.

2022 iPad Pro M2 review: Six months later, powerful and still stale
Sadly my 6 year old ipad pro 9.7 is laying unused as my son, who I got it for has grown out of it. He's no longer interested in ipad games! I tried configuring his school stuff in the ipad but doesn't seem interested in it as well as his school uses chromebooks. I tried setting it up as a media watching device for me, but it feels too big to use on bed and on the couch, TV is more comfortable...

Microsoft makes Outlook for Mac free
I don't use any standalone mail clients for personal email. For work I gave up Apple Mail in favor of Outlook a few years ago due to frustrating bugs. My employer has also migrated to exchange since. Complaints about bloat has merit as my older intel macs struggled with it. But I haven't had a issue since I upgraded to apple silicon. However I need something which works reliably and Apple mail isn't it.
