Since we're paraphrasing Douglas Adams, a few of my favorites as applicable to the situation:

Re announcement of the Textblade:

• The story so far: In the beginning the Textblade was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Re recent updates from Mark Knighton:

• For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after four years or so, nothing continued to happen.

Re Kahuna:

• There are some people you like immediately, some whom you think you might learn to like in the fullness of time, and some that you simply want to push away from you with a sharp stick.

Well, Apple announced a whole new universe of AWESOME NEW STUFF.

Brand new Mac Pro! (Yes!!!!)  Updates galore - iOS, Watch OS, iPad OS, Mac OS, Music, TV, HDR Display, too much stuff to even remember it all! Probably the biggest WWDC ever. Awesome!

Waytools on the other hand.... not so awesome.

Jan 2015 - April 2019 - ZIP!!
May 2019 update? ZILCH!!!!
June 1st 2019 - update by 9pm PST? NADA!!!! (why even suggest this self-imposed deadline when you had no intention of meeting it?????)
June 2nd 2019 - the quiet Sunday update after missing the Sat 9pm PST update? GOOSE EGG!!!!!!!!
June 3rd - the busy Monday update following on the heels of the missed quiet Sunday update after the ignored Sat 9pm PST update? DIDDLY SQUAT!!!!!!!!!!!
June 4th - Tuesday, 3:30am on the east coast and I see nothing.

How does someone promise an update by 9pm PST on a Saturday and then on the following Tuesday still have nothing to show for it?

This is gaslighting people. You get to witness it first hand. Mark Knighton will lie and lie and lie again. He will lie right to your face. With no shame. He does not care.

Mark Knighton's universe of lies will implode soon. Soon you all will see.

I disagree that none of it is his fault. He shills for a bad actor, and deflects and obstructs on behalf of a bad actor. That contributes to Mark Knighton's unethical behavior by enabling it. A loser like Mark Knighton cannot exist and behave as he does for so long without his little shills and lap dogs enabling him. In that context and to that extent, it is also DBKs fault.

But I agree that DBK should not be attacked. In fact, he should not be engaged at all. He should be entirely ignored. I would suggest (including myself in this) everyone converse with each other and completely ignore his ridiculous trolling and baiting as much as possible (difficult as that may be at at times) so we can all focus on the more relevant points, which are to engage and/or criticize Mark Knighton.

Mark Knighton is perhaps the most inept, incompetent, inefficient, unreliable, and untrustworthy human being to ever engage in the tech industry.

Imagine for a moment having this bumbling half-wit errand boy on staff at your own company and relying upon him to get even the smallest task accomplished.

He would be fired in an instant.

He isn't qualified to rinse coffee cups, or take out the trash. He is a complete and total moron. He cannot do anything he says he will do.

Mark Knighton promised countless status updates and product ship dates prior to May 2019. 4+ years of promises and lies. FAIL.

On May 31st 2019, as the deadline loomed, Mark Knighton promised a June 1st 2019 update. FAIL YET AGAIN.

You are telling me that at no point would you think I was lying to you or trying to scam you?

Can you describe any personal or professional relationship you maintain with someone or some company, in the real world, where they behave as per above, and you maintain a positive or productive relationship with them, and 'believe' they are 'doing their best' and 'not trying to scam you' ?

If you make such a claim, then you are a treg shill, or you are full of BS.

It is all a fiction and a scam. Mark Knighton will never ship Textblades to his 10,000+ customers. He is a liar. He built a small number of prototypes after collecting millions of dollars in orders, and he got some press via outlets like Macrumors and Appleinsider, who reviewed his product in good faith, which allowed him to scam even more people.

Macrumors washed their hands of the whole thing.

Appleinsider has yet to admit their mistake in lending any coverage or credibility to the lying scheming disgusting scam artist named Mark Knighton DBA Waytools, but I remain hopeful that they will eventually do a proper journalistic investigation of the many, many issues covered in this thread and publish a followup on their original reporting.
