  • High-profile resignations put Twitter at risk of giant FTC fines

The amount of press coverage that one billionaire gets on a daily basis is sickening, and he cannot take all the blame for it either.  Some of it was interesting for a while, but now the incessant reporting has crossed a line.  The news media sadly focuses in whatever is perceived to be a hot button issue at any given time.  No wonder the US is so polarized politically.  The media, claiming to be unbiased, feeds both sides and then reports on the conflicts the media has induced!

The best thing the news media can do for the average citizen is to just stop reporting about Twitter and Musk for a while.  Tesla and SpaceX news as well.  No, we readers of the daily news really don't need to know.  The world will keep spinning, and life will go on.  People will be happier as a result.  Let Musk sort things out without all the scrutiny, and instead just tell us about far more interesting and less provocative "product" news and "breakthroughs" from the world of tech.
Yes, you're absolutely right. The news media should stop all reporting on any subject once a limit of 3 stories is reached in any given month. It's so tiresome to read what's happening in the world when something else has already happened in that domain previously.

It would make the news so much more wonderfully varied and I can't think of a single negative that might result from this excellent plan.

  • Apple 27-inch mini LED display expected in early 2023

Like many others, I suspect, I'd like a Studio Display but haven't bought one because it's overpriced and not technically up-to-date enough (resolution aside).

I'd very much like a higher-spec version, but making it even more expensive just won't work. Replacing the current one at the same price would be tempting, but it's hard enough to justify spending 3x the amount of a 4k display on a 5k one. There's no way I'd contemplate spending even more than that. £/$1500 is already beyond the upper limit for a 27" 5k monitor, I'm afraid.
Then you are doomed to a low end 4k monitor which is an even older tech monitor, the price won’t be dropping not in this inflationary times.
Well, not really... I currently have a 5k iMac. I just begrudge paying 2 or 3 times what it's worth just to have virtually the same monitor component on its own.

And you mean 'high-end 4k monitor'.

  • How the new Mac Studio fills a crucial gap in Apple's desktop lineup

I've had two different 27" iMacs for the past many years, as well as a 13" MBP for taking into the office (back when offices existed). I was planning on buying the 27" replacement or, at a pinch, looking at a new MBP to replace both existing units.

For me, the benefits of the different form factors are:

iMac - neat, good value, fewer cables
Desktop - expandability, potentially good value
    Laptop - can move around

So a desktop with no expandability and a high cost appears to offer the worst of everything, for me. It would be equivalent to an iMac with exposed wires or a laptop that can't be moved.

There are a million people with a million use cases, and I hope the new Mini does indeed fill a hole in the range, but selling it at the expense of a good iMac seems a huge shame for me.
