Viral stolen iPhone video charges and $200,000 MacBook thefts in the Apple Crime Blotter

"Karen" ... overused BS. It would appear a more accurate guess is the accuser is just a garden variety a-hole racist.
One more word of advice for you - don't spit on the sidewalk. You may get a few years in jail for it.
I think Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison of the NYPD has a slightly more informed understanding of what charges might be applicable under New York State law than you do anonymous internet poster.
You are so devoid from reality. She will be properly punished if she is convicted of something and that is a big if and despite your wish to jail her for being a racist that is not quite constitutional. It is always ironic when characters like you rant and rave and advocate it is a great idea to take away the constitutional rights of someone or groups you find repugnant. And that "fear of god" garbage has little place in this other than as part of self-righteous ranting. She does not have a right to assault someone, but she has a constitutional right to speak as she pleases and express her views whether or not others find it morally indefensible. In the America described in the constitution we do not put people in jail for that. Be careful, you never know who they will come for next and it may be you. Have you learned nothing from history or the last four years?
Wow-I guess if anyone is going to talk about being “devoid from reality” that would be you. Bringing someone up on charges of assault, when they clearly assaulted someone on video in front of independent witnesses suddenly becomes a slippery slope argument wherein “everyone (the reader) doesn’t like” has their constitutional rights negated. What in gods green earth do those two things have in common, outside of a knee jerk reaction against the possibility that a racist MIGHT feel the effects of equal justice under the law?

Racism can’t exist without an imbalance of power and an attempt to leverage that power. In this case bringing false charges of theft against a young black male would have a vastly worse outcome than against an older white individual such as the “victim” herself. Yeah, she should be brought up on charges of defamation and assault. If jail time is determined appropriate, the woman should be made to serve the time. No more passes for racist white folk. -
Apple Car could bolster services but low margins limit upside, analyst says
schmrtzzz said:rikipedia said:The Apple Cars are Robo-Taxis (TaxiPods) containing Apple supported "pieces" as add-ons to an autonomous driving vehicle. The vehicle is probably already selected for the initial run in an exclusive deal Apple made with the car manufacturer. The vehicle will have all of the Apple Toys you could think to throw in the car but you'll pay for each service. You want excellent music, click here. You want to watch television, click here. Personally, I'm most excited about the LCD windshields surrounding the car. "Siri, tint the glass 40%. Siri, block all sunlight coming into the car. Siri, show us driving through the countryside in North Carolina in the Fall. Siri, fly us to the Moon."
You won't want to get out of this car and it won't be yours. That said I still maintain it will be a sale rather than service. Apple doesn’t want to be hosing out the interior of a fleet of Cars New Year’s Eve, am I right? -
Apple has the 'key ingredients' needed to disrupt the car market, analysts say

Looking at how Apple has priced things over the past 10+ years we've seen a more and more aggressive trend in Apple banking on people being willing to pay an ever increasing premium.
Taking that, and combining it with all car rumours essentially placing the Apple Car in the regular car category (as compared with smaller city-vehicles, or even some type of no-license-required e-bike/car hybrid)… and it looks like an Apple Car would end up being even more of a luxury item than a Tesla.
Can Apple really pull that off without it finally making users feel disconnected from the Apple brand?
Will people really push themselves into adding yet another couple of hundred on top of what they paid for their last iPhone if they feel that Apple is moving this far out of their reach? And will they then still be into the sound equipment, and the tablets, and the computers, once they've started getting out of the Apple ecosystem?
I just feel that if Apple screw up too badly, by getting lost in their own sense of how luxurious/important they are, they could sort of disenfranchise their customer base by releasing a luxury (in price) car.
(If Apple on the other hand has feared that, and they have been looking more towards bike-friendly European cities than bigger-is-better US cars while developing next generation transportation… That could be fun.) -
Apple's M1 MacBook Air smashes Windows on ARM in new benchmarks
frantisek said:inexco said:To me the headline implied running Windows on the Air.
I was expecting to see Parallels or another emulator running Windows better.
My 2012 Mini runs Windows better than most dedicated Windows machines.
You all should know that Roseta will smoke any other x86 emulations for long as M1 has unique features speeding x86 emulation. dont remember what exactly but was something with memory ordering or task scheduling....
even if MS does port Windows to ASi it will still lack native software unless the individual developers cross-compile. Would they do that for such a small target audience if they aren’t being forced to do so is the question. Here’s where Microsoft gets screwed by its primary selling point—backwards compatibility. They will have to sacrifice that if they want to make a forced-march to a different ASI, and they must make a forced March if they want their developers to go along. My money says they never leave x86, for better or worse.
it will be interesting to see what solutions Arm is able to bring to the table, but they are even more compromised by their architecture.
