With that said, if Apple can create a carrier they would gain more market share and fight back the carriers who sold knockoffs next to Apple products.

I know for a while Virgin mobile was iPhone exclusive. We need more focus on iPhone. 

   It seems to me that if Apple had their own cellular carrier they would have to make it compatible with current and future standards to allow devices from other manufacturers work on their cellular network.  All features, promotions and plans it offered would need to be platform agnostic to avoid even more intense scrutiny from US congressional committees, the FCC, the EU technology and telephony regulators and hundreds more regulatory agencies across the world. I don’t think Apple would want to bring that onto itself.
