  • iOS 26 iPhone battery overhaul: Trends and Adaptive Power

Battery stats, how realistic are they, of course it tells you which app used the most energy but it doesn't take into account how energy intensive each app is.  For example, say i play music for 14 hrs with the screen off and it uses 40% of battery, then I play a high cpu gpu vibration etc game for 10 mins and it uses 35% of battery,  It still would list the music app as being the major consumer of energy when in reality the game is the battery hog.

Safari on-screen for 1 min took 4% of battery whereas Chrome was on-screen for 35 mins using a little over double of what Safari used in a minute.  Tik tok on-screen over 3 times as long as Chrome using less than double of what Chrome used in 35 mins.  Tik tok seems most energy efficient and I should avoid using Safari if I don't want to drain my battery.

  • iOS 26 is here with Liquid Glass redesign, new Camera, and Apple Intelligence promises

Will these visual changes make my phone run quicker, as it sounds more processor intensive and would slow down older phones.  I found disabling animations desirable, as I don't want to waste my time watching something slide or fade away before proceeding with what I wanted to do.  I hope they had the time to address all their bugs, or are the new features just there as a diversion.  I thought iOS was supposed to be good.

  • Five more iOS 26 features leak from a reliable source

I do hope the animation on the lock screen for the music app is optional! I would want to disable it as it's a gimmick and serves no true purpose.

  • New Apple Watch ad reveals how the Emergency SOS feature saved a man in Australia

Yes if he took his landline phone out swimming with it could have saved him.
My point is that the watch was a communication device, similar to a landline phone, why give the credit to the watch, if the watch sprung out propeller blades and dragged him back to shore, I would then say the watch saved his life.  The watch didn't even detect he was in distress, and automatically send a distress signal, he manually had to do it.  If he had his iPhone on him, and he then placed a philosophers call, would Apple give credit to the phone?

the people in the helicopter saved him, not the watch.  Back in the days when people used landlines to call the emergency services, we didn't give the credit to the home-phone, we gave it to the respondents.
