  • Apple Watch Series 9 will get a big speed boost from S9 chip

New sensors are needed not additional speed, now that the Samsung s6 has biometric sensors, that and a considerable improvement in battery life, would probably make me upgrade from my s6 ss

  • Apple is the worst tech firm for losing staff, claims flawed report

IMO you don't need a survey to know that Apple has had a brain drain, the problem is that they've lost a lot of their top engineers and replaced the with less than average ones, which hardly surprising with the state of Universities in the West, Apple needs to recruit from the Asian countries!
It's clear with the lack of innovation and poor upgrades over the last 2 years 😏

  • New 15-inch MacBook Air sales are half the figure Apple expected

The main issue is the base configuration, No one in their right mind will be purchasing 8gb 256gb any more, I'm just a normal user and 256gb is too small for me, I can live with 8gb at the moment, however even I know I need 16gb for future proofing. At £1700 for that config, it's just not good value, compared to 14" Pro.
The next issue is the M2 chip, basically it's just an over clocked M1 with the addition of a media engine, (most buyers of this machine aren't creators), so most buyers like me are waiting for the M3 chip. Consumers these days are too smart to fall for the usual hype.
The final issue is; once you get past the bigger screen, it's compromised at every level compared to the Pro's, Screen, speakers, Pro Motion, Camera, IO's.
Like I said, I'm just a normal user not a pro and the only upgrade I'm considering is the M3 14" or 16" pro.
Once you you get to 16gb & 512gb the 15" is just not value for money.
I said from day one, it was not as good as the hype and these sales figures don't surprise me.

  • India's hefty tax on online games may kneecap an entire industry

Gaming is killing generation after generation of kids IMO, every government should put huge taxes on it, perhaps it will make lazy parents think twice, before they indulge their kids for an easier life!

  • Apple's macOS saw a dramatic upturn in 2022 worldwide

I realise businesses are still willing to compromise on the cheap windows infrastructure.
From a personal point of view, I moved to MacOS, 5 years ago and after the initial 2 months adaptation, would never go back to windows.
Mac's aren't perfect and they're expensive, but you do get value for money in my opinion, effectively they're only more expensive at the front end and it's night and day as far as user experience is concerned!
In a world with so much virtue signalling about health & safety, it's amazing how many companies, still use cheap bad for your eyes office lighting and screens 😏
