  • iPhone 16 vs Samsung Galaxy S25 - Entry-level options compared

Standard iPhones can’t compete with Samsung, but the iPhone Pro models since the 13 have all been really nice devices. Nearly pulled trigger on a 16 pro max recently but going to hold out until there’s a big enough difference to my 14 Pro.

  • Apple may revive its AirPort technology in new HomePod and Apple TV

Time capsule with airport was a pretty cool idea. Had one years ago, but now just do a manual Time Machine backup occasionally to a third party HD and have 2TB of iCloud. Our current Orbi threaded router is rock solid, lightning fast and came free from my fibre provider. I find Apple consumer products are really poor on the networking connectivity side TBH. Settings are confusing, individual family member user profile implementation needs a massive upgrade and our Apple TV 4K can be a real pain in the neck. It’s all working ok at the moment touch wood but couldn’t say how many hours I’ve wasted trying to keep TV OS running smoothly.

  • How Apple's smart home revolution begins in 2025

Home automation makes me gag. Would be happy if Apple could improve AppleTV 4K functionality with decent hardware and a smoother UI experience for music & TV, support for gaming and AI that is actually helpful. It’s at the stage where any old smart TV with Android works way better and more reliably, so Apple definitely need to upp their game or they’ll soon lose me. Bought the wife and I AirPods Pro 2’s last year and we occasionally watch TV or a movie together after the kids are in bed. The sound is great (much better than our paired HomePods) and simultaneous listening on AirPods is one of Apple TV 4k’s cooler features, but man have I had some major hassles keeping a glitchy 4K working…

  • Leak: what law enforcement can unlock with the 'Graykey' iPhone hacking tool

Trying to force tech companies to create back doors is pretty unlikely given the international terrorism and financial fraud risks it would create.. That would be tantamount to basically killing off the entire tech sector. 47 is increasingly old, tired and incoherent. Picking they’ll just hook him off stage like snagglepuss when the emperors new clothes effect wears off. By then there will be zero public goodwill remaining for the sycophants dumb enough to scrap over the remnants of the GOP.

  • MacBook Air doubles base memory to 16GB for same $999

The M3 MBA is a brilliant computer. I went with a midnight 16gb 512gb 13” M3 earlier this year. Grunty little machine, was worried I wouldn’t like the screen size and nearly stumped up for a 15” or a base MBP 14” but 13.6” is great and glad I saved the extra cash.
