I don’t know if it’s just me....But I’ve never been this excited for a credit card before
    It's just you!

But really, if the Credit Card number is always changing, how do you use it to pay some of your bills like Garbage, or Water, etc. How do you have automatic payments without going back to the site every month and enter a new token number?
My understanding of how this works on other cards that have offered random numbers, is that they are active until revoked. I believe the idea is that every merchant has a different card number, so in the event of a breach of their data and your card number is stolen, it’s tied to that transaction and not authorized for use anywhere else. The way it is now, is your master number is held by dozens of merchants, stealing it from any one of them gives an active card access to anyone who posses it.
I looked into virtual credit cards last year after discovering fraud on my debit card. Supposedly using virtual cards can complicate getting refunds on returns since the number expires.

  • Apple may have trouble finding 5G modems for 2020 iPhones if it doesn't make its own

Does anyone know much about why these "modems" are apparently so expensive to design? Seems like something apple should have been doing in-house going back to the introduction of A-series processor.

Also, they can't literally be modems, right? I presume this is like how folks call cable routers "cable modems" when they're really no such thing.
They modulate/demodulate an electromagnetic continuous carrier wave to encode/decode information so they are mo-dems. It doesn’t matter if the electromagnetic wave travels on a phone line, tv cable, RF waveguide, optical fiber or free space.

  • Tim Cook to deliver Stanford commencement address in June

The Steve Jobs commencement address was for my graduating class at Stanford. But I was too stupid to be there. I only needed one more credit in my last quarter so I completed it online from my home state of Florida. If I would have known that he was the speaker I would have flown back to CA for it. I only learned about the address when he passed away in 2011.

  • Apple lowers holiday quarter guidance on lower than expected iPhone sales

    Oh, good lord.

Personally, I’m not that crazy about the “X” phones and may get an iPhone 8 instead. I don’t want to give up the ease of use I like about having a home button to be honest and I don’t care for Face ID.
Not a great fan of faceid myself and I have a X. The failure rate of the faceid vs finger id is at least 10x higher.
I love Face ID and would never go back to Touch ID but it’s possible that is a factor. Last year one of the new phones still had Touch ID. This year all the new phones were Face ID only. Perhaps people are more attached to the home button than we think.
I went from a 4s straight to an X. So I never had Touch ID but probably would have used it if I did have it. But I have never been interested in using the Face ID on my X.

  • Virtualization software maker Parallels bought out by Canada's Corel

I had no idea that Corel, CorelDraw, or WordPerfect still were around. Knew about WinZIP but didn't realize they owned it.
They still sell a boxed copy of their office suite with WordPerfect and Quattro Pro at Best Buy. I was looking at the box the other day. Apparently they cater WordPerfect to law firms and so it remains popular with lawyers. I used to really like the reveal codes feature.
