  • US Census Bureau turns to Apple devices to improve accuracy, reduce costs

Great another automatic 100,000+ iPhone sales for Apple.
Could be iPod touch units, too: Collect data in the field, then sync when you get back to a wi-fi connection. Whatever the details, it'll be a big step forward. I worked on the 2010 census, and it was still immensely paper-heavy (not to mention associated pens, pencils, erasers, folders and storage).

  • Mac shipments grow slightly, but Apple's PC market share shrinks [u]

    - And if I still managed to ignore that, I plug it in for a minute, as I pee or make a coffee or get water, and guess what?
I guess fluids are very important to you and that you're well hydrated.

  • Apple moves launch of macOS Catalina iCloud folder sharing to spring 2020

Is it really rocket science to figure out how to share a cloud-based folder?  You have to wonder about Apple sometimes...
No, but it might be rocket science to figure how to do it in a way that doesn't get them sued by Dropbox or Microsoft or Google.

  • US denies Apple tariff relief on remaining five Mac Pro parts

I just read about the doomsday nuke that can hit the US in 30 minutes or less with devastating force that China will be showing off in its 70th anniversary military parade. They claim they are a peace loving nation.  You have to wonder why US manufacturers (hello Apple) continue to invest in a country that has developed a weapon specifically designed to inflict massive damage on the US? Apple should invest in super advanced robotic assembly so they can stop relying on cheap Chinese labor to build their products. That would scare the Chinese more than American weaponry.
Because that weapon isn't designed with only the U.S. in mind. China shares borders with Russia, India and most of the -stans. They're not exactly the most stable places on earth. I agree that U.S. companies should invest in domestic manufacturing for our national economic security, but I wonder why you think we should be trying to scare the Chinese as a way to make them think we're less of a threat.

  • NBC 'Peacock' streaming service expected in 2020 with 15,000 hours of content

Revealed on Tuesday, Peacock refers to the company's logo, which consists of the bird with a multi-colored segmented tail.
Wow. Are we so far removed from events these days that people don't even know the NBC peacock or that it was created to tout NBC's shows that were filmed in color?
