Ugh, sorry to nitpick but why do so many people assume podcasts were Apple's "creation"? I see this claim a lot for some reason. They were a grassroots invention that took advantage of open standards like RSS, and piggybacked on the popularity of the iPod, but Apple had no hand in the creation of the technology. Apple jumped on an existing bandwagon when they added Podcasts to iTunes in 2005.

The rumors so far make this sound like it should be called iPhone 12S - like they usually do when there’s no significant chassis change.

im a little disappointed, though. While the iPhone 12 mini is a step in the right direction, finally, it’s not quite as small as I’d hoped (original iPhone SE size). Was hoping they’d do the same thing they did with the iPod mini — replace it in the 2nd generation with an even smaller iteration. iPhone 12S nano!

This sounds like a genericization of what they're planning with the AR glasses -- offloading processing to the more powerful nearby device. So maybe instead of being tethered specifically to your phone, as was done with the WATCH, they'll recognize and have their capabilities enhanced by any nearby device you're signed in to, in a transparent way. And then as Apple often does, they'll bring this technology they developed for AR/VR back to their other devices too.
