I don't know.  I would think when you build your antitrust lawsuit on the assertion that "iOS is a monopoly", you deserve to be laughed out of court.

This is bogus news because as we all know, Apple is totally inept and hopelessly behind in AI.  As we have been hearing from self-identifying expert and fully informed internet posters, Apple has been sitting on its ass doing nothing while everyone else were building their AI models.

Nope, I'm not buying this vial of snake oil.

"Not complying with the spirit of the law" is a very vague legal concept.  If compliance with the letter of the law doesn't guarantee compliance with the spirit of the law, then the law is badly written.  The authorities are basically saying "the law is whatever we say it is in your specific case, and it may change in other cases, with other respondents."  Terrible.

I believe Apple can bring it to the EU court who tend to be more careful about these matters.  The EU's competition watchdogs seem to be operating under no coherent legal or economic principles except "We don't like non-EU companies to be too big or too profitable."

AI would not have spotted your straw man argument there when you tried to bolster your position by implying that running, as a computational problem is just as complex as real-world logical thinking (i.e general intelligence).  Unfortunately, humans would.

If the aim is to go after monopoly power, then Amazon and Facebook should be next in line.
