  • Florida governor signs bill to curb 'big tech censorship' of politics

Signed on Monday by DeSantis, measure SB 7072 enacts new rules that will affect political speech on social networks. Under the law, social media companies must inform users of instances where they are banned or censored. The rules put forth in the Florida law also encompass mandatory notification to users of instances where a post is flagged with a warning to others about potential false or disputable information in the post.

Penalties under the bill include daily fines of up to $100,000 for the platforms. Users will also have the ability to sue companies they believe are violating that law.
Penalties and suing them for what?  Not informing users that they're banned, censored or flagged as potentially false or disputable?  That doesn't seem so bad, companies should be transparent about what they're doing.

Though allowing users to sue for shadow-banning seems like a recipe for lots of spurious lawsuits and corporate denials.
I hope it back fires.  Seems line trump is running the Republicans behind the scene.  If I’m not mistaken. Ron is a trump supporter.
DeSantis is a Trump "wanna be" , would be dictator. He thinks he runs EVERYTHING.

  • Disney+ to offer 'Mulan' as $30 in-app purchase on iOS, Apple TV

Mulan is a First Run Major Production. I saw the previews pre-covid and it looked awesome. I don't even have a family, but I think $30 to essentially "own" the film is not a bad deal. Would I have preferred free as part of my Disney + subscription ? Sure, but this is not unreasonable.

I liked Greyhound, but this movie is in a totally different production world. Show 'em with your wallet.

  • Production has resumed on season two of Apple TV+ show 'For All Mankind'

Haven't watched it.   Won't watch it.

There is simply no way to improve on the achievements or ideals of NASA of the 60's and any attempt to do so only degrades those achievements and lofty ideals.

I would wish that we, as a world and as a nation, would strive to duplicate those achievements and live up to those ideals rather than rewrite them according to some ideology.

Perhaps, using religion as an analogy, it would be like saying how better Jesus or Buddha would have been had they been (say) female (or black or gay or whatever).   Both were so great that any effort to rewrite who or what they were or accomplished merely diminishes that which cannot and should not be diminished and makes the writer of that rewrite look shallow and foolsih.

Good grief. Take a breath. Unwind that sanctimonious world view. It's a TV show.

  • Apple to launch Apple TV+ bundle with CBS All Access, Showtime for $9.99

They should still make offers to acquire the studios and libraries of Sony Pictures, MGM and/or niche library companies like Turner Classics or Criterion.
Absolutely. I had to ransom back TCM from Comcast after they removed it from the normal tier and stuck it on a Sports Tier. TCM...Sports Tier ?

  • 27-inch iMac flash storage cannot be replaced or upgraded

I just read an article explaining how to enable the T2 Mac to boot from an external drive. One of the choices on the Utility APP launched during Recovery startup is Startup Security Utility. A simple selection of essentially "Allow from External".       How to make new T2-secured Macs boot from external drives ...appleinsider.com › articles › how-to-make-new-t2-secu...

Also, if you are OK with erasing everything on the SSD and starting from scratch, can't you do that?
