Not so much doing nothing else but trying to do something else but really looking over your shoulder to see if it compiles or throws a piston...

MBA M1 new is the most expensive Mac Laptop I've bough since my 1400cs (I buy an Apple refurb store unit every 5 years).  The amount of time saved over my i5 MBP is stunning.  Sometimes I open the Applications folder, -A then -O just to show doubters how capable these new models are.

Lots of internal codenames are just team choices and favorites.  I worked on "Pokey" which was a fave toon of the lead engineer, "Roger Rabbit" for obvious reasons given the hardware, and "Double Exposure".  Rhodes is an island too, but it had a colossus - they seem to be on a creative theme here.  

He's not far off.  Zero design change.  Identical physical specs.  Everyday use?  Not much delta.  Min ssd 128.  800 vs 625 nits.  Cinematic video.  Same core count.  Batt maxed 19 vs 17 h. Worth another $100?  Eh, maybe.  But hey, Apple has to be on a 1-year refresh with phones for many other reasons, few of them are strictly technical.  

They should put Dave Eggers on the board.  

Somebody needs to remind them they're mortal and can make ridiculous decisions that can hurt.  

They seem to miss that part on a regular basis.
