Apple facing another lawsuit claiming media purchase buttons are misleading
You are buying a license. We often forgot that because we were handed a vinyl record, or a tape, or a CD or an electronic file for our electronic player. Those who never used physical media skipped that part. None of this is new, and is older than we think: I have an Edison "Standard" blue amberol cylinder, and it still amazes me that this is on the back from 1916:THIS RECORD IS SOLD UPON THE CONDITION THAT IT SHALL NOT BE RE-SOLD TO OR AY ANY UNAUTHORIZED DEALER OR USED FOR DUPLICATION, AND THAT IT SHALL NOT BE SOLD, OR OFFERED FOR SALE, BY THE ORIGINAL, OR ANY SUBSEQUENT PURCHASER (EXCEPT BY AN AUTHORIZED JOBBER OR FACTOR TO AN AUTHORIZED RETAIL DEALER) FOR LESS THAN 35 CENTS IN THE UNITED STATES, NOR IN OTHER COUNTRIES FOR LESS THAN THE PRICE GIVEN IN THE CURRENT EDISON CATALOGUES OF THE COUNTRY IN WHICH IT IS SOLD: UPON ANY BREACH OF SAID CONDITION THE LICENSE TO USE AND VEND THIS -
Despite potshots, Intel & Samsung want to make Apple Silicon
Samsung should technically be last choice if at all, as they are a direct competitor for devices. Let them license from ARM and roll their own.
Apple could conceivably better help fund another TSMC plant if needed for volume.
Intel could also just fab the design, their "5nm" generation fab is still on paper only, while TSMC has been getting 80% yields on shipping chips for a year.
Plus I'd imagine they'd be eating crow to start fabbing ARM chips, with their bald claims of a superior chip design. Not to mention ARM licensing.
At least Apple was transparent about going with the best available ships for the job.

iPadOS 15 confirms Apple's M1-equipped iPad Pro is a V8 engine powering a Ford Pinto
Honestly, why wait for Apple to change this eventually - just buy a MBA M1. By the time you outfit the iPad Pro 12.9 with a keyboard, you are close to the same weight, the limits are off, you save a few hundred bucks, and you will lose only the pen capability ( so get Sidecar on existing iPad 6+, mini5 or Air 3+, or even a $99 Wacom BT tablet if pen input is required) and FHD camera which you already have on your existing iPhone or iPad. -
