  • Twitter loses half its ad revenue, still weighed down by debt

So Twitter was the preeminent microblogging platform, doing well enough to have shareholders getting earnings.
Musk buys it and starts pulling every lever he can find, many of which were clearly marked DO NOT TOUCH THIS LEVER.
Now the company is bleeding value, invisible to the public, and got its lunch eaten by Meta in less than a week of competition.
Oh, and a new half-billion liability based on Lever #2.
Remind me how this reflects on the legendary genius of Musk?

  • Microsoft & Twitter should look to Apple for how security is done, says feds

Recently had biz email moved to MS.  I definitely understand why their 2FA is under-used.

  • Revamped 'Myst Mobile' lands on iPad, iPhone

I managed to get the app on my iPhone SE2 and then got it on the mini5 through purchased apps... weird.

Great handle!  BTW I still have a rig that runs Hypercard!  And all my Expanded Books! I was using RunRev until they started charging for hobbyists.

I had a short-lived side gig coding tools in HC which I christened "Pancake Technologies:  We Know How To Stack'em!"

Also worked on IIGS development as an Apple ATG External Research site.  If you ever doubted the value of Apple dev tools, HyperCard GS was a 4 hour port from the Mac version.

    Cheers!

Yes indeed! As a former HyperCard "developer" I recall how the arrival of Myst fueled hopes on HC forums that Apple would continue development of HC 3.0 with much needed new features. Alas, between the advent of the WWW, the return of Steve Jobs to Apple, and development of OS X,  HC 3.0 was simply not to be. Many HC folks eventually moved on to Objective-C, myself included, thus my username: hcrefugee.
On the plus side, when I met my wife-to-be in grad school, we played Myst together, and as a result of the game play, realized (among other things) that the way we thought, approached, and solved problems complemented each other. Unlike the demise of HyperCard, we are still going strong 30 years later. And we still have our original Myst CD in the bookcase!

A12 bionic or greater?  Says it’s a no-go on iPad mini 5. BTW, this was originally made on HyperCard.

  • HidrateSpark TAP Smart Water Bottle review: Best budget smart water bottle

I’m afraid I’m going to have to go full Ron Swanson on this. Put down the phone. Drink some water.
