  • Apple's valuation will fall to less than $3 trillion for the worst reasons

Why do you worry about the stock price?  AAPL has risen 47% ytd so is on a good run. It surpassed the previous highs since the last run up and is just about to enter the most profitable quarter.
There was bound to be some profit taking after the earnings announcement. 3 dips in a row on earnings was going to have an effect. The main reason for that is the inflation effect and the fact that the last iPhone model was not a massive improvement over the previous one.
I for one, skipped that after upgrading every year for a while.  I also skipped the applewatch.  This year I will be buying both.
Apple are in a good place. There are always ups and downs with the stock but I’ve always focused on how healthy the company is rather than the skittishness of the analysts and market.

  • Apple's Mac mini has outlasted Intel's NUC

Apple is never going to compete with PCs on the low end.  And they should never try to either.  Let others make small margins on these low price products.

  • Apple is inventing a revolutionary car audio system for Apple Car

CarPlay is cool.  I don't have it my current cars but have used it in hire cars.  It is a great experience when it is available.  So making it better would be good and if car makers could provide options for both CarPlay and Android that would be ideal for the customer (not that they would).
Part of me would love a see an AppleCar on the market, part of me thinks it will be too expensive and unable to compete.  But then Apple have done this many times and succeeded and Tesla basically made the electric car market work but selling high end cars.
My next car will be electric but that is a few years down the road. I doubt that Apple will have a car out by then and I'm not sure I would want to have a first gen car unless it was absolutely superb.  I've been a first adopter for several Apple products but only when they have the features I needed (rMBP, silicon MBP, AppleWatch, AirPods) but waited for others for the features to appear (iPhone 3GS, iPad, Mac mini).

  • Apple is the world's biggest company at $3 trillion -- again

for years I had a number in mind. At that price, my AAPL shares would be worth $2 million.

I happened to be looking at the Stocks app when it hit that number this past week. Got a screen shot of it and also of the calculator showing the exact worth of my shares at that price. It closed above that and has stayed above it. It's in my retirement account... but one of the few silver linings of being in my late 50s is that in about 15 months I can start drawing on it - if I wish - without early withdrawal penalty. It's not my only significant asset but it's been key to my financial security for years: knowing that my retirement is secured has freed up my work and investment income for other useful purposes. I've got an amazing job I love at a world-class institution that I will never lose so long as I don't do either of two things that are very easy to not do. I'm pretty much set for life thanks to a very modest investment I made in AAPL 23 years ago.

It happened to be an outstanding day for me for other reasons, such as the intel fed to me about the latest laughably bad life choices my clueless, triumphant ex is making. It seems a couple of her friends whom she mistakenly trusts too much share my disappointment in her and are eager to spill the T for their own reasons.

    I'll remember 6/27/23 for quite a while.

Next stop, $3 million. Thanks Steve. Thanks Tim.
We hold nearly the same number of shares, but mine I acquired 12 years ago.  After a couple big splits and selling 60% of my shares to take positions in Tesla, IBM, NVidia and Regeneron, I have 12,000 shares remaining.
Similar situation for me. In my case I used a rollover check of around 10K and ended up putting it all in to AAPL. That was in the early 2000s and it has grown in excess of 1MM. Really saved my bacon when it comes down to my retirement. Now I have diversified a bit so only hold 550k. But still grateful to Apple for securing my retirement.  Whatever you say about Tim Cook he is a superb manager of Apple’s business.  I remember the days when you would have to wait for months for a product to ship.  Now Apple rarely have any hiccups.

  • 15-inch MacBook Air review: Hits the sweet spot for portability and power

This looks like a great machine for those who want good performance, a larger screen and lighter weight.  Ideal for those who travel a lot.  The price point is significantly cheaper than the 16 inch MBP.  For those who largely web surf and for college students this is a perfect fit.
I agree having a USB point on both sides would have been nice but not necessarily a deal breaker.
