Apple is retreating in China.  India is Cook trying to lessen the effect in China.
Not true. It may well be not going Great, but it is definitely doing fine.suddenly newton said:

India will be a difficult market much like Brazil. But I think it has more to do with the overall market economy and GDP rather then Apple's problem. Someday more and more people will be able to afford iPhone.

  • High Sierra firmware suggests Secure Enclave, Intel 'Purley' chips coming to iMac Pro

    Purely? Xeon? Radeon Pro?

I really wish Apple just give me a ProSumer iMac, Core i9, Normal Top range Radeon VEGA Graphics.

The improved GPU in iMac is still not good enough.

And how about a new Design? I mean we could use a Thinner Bezel now.

  • Intel making Thunderbolt 3 royalty-free for manufacturers in 2018 [u]

The cost issues is basically Intel's fault. And one reason why you haven't seen a single AMD GPU / Motherboard with TB3 built in.

I have a feeling this move has a lot to do with keeping Apple with Intel. As opening up and making this free is very Un-Intel. They could have done this many years ago. Why now? Why mentioned TB3 was suppose to be included in Kaby Lake and didn't? Depending on Model that could save $25 - $50 of BOM cost on MBP.

I think and I hope this is Apple unhappy with Intel's roadmap and performance, from CPU to Baseband, and still failed to open up their Fab. ( We are pretty certain Apple will be with TSMC all the way to 5nm in 2020)

  • Apple hires two Google satellite execs for 'new hardware team'

How will it support its users?
Satellite direct to each iPhone. Dont think that works, even 1000 users per Sat that is only a Million. And iPhone users are only part of the total Network users.

Sat to tower? Who is going to build the tower? Regulation Approval.
    How does it scale?

May be this is only about Apple Map, but wouldn't flying drones be better?

    "Chase Pay"

    this is getting ridiculous.
I'm fine with that, so long as they all follow suit with the same backend system popularized by Apple Pay, I'm perfectly happy with Android Pay, Samsung Pay, Chase Pay, Swatch Pay, Whitey Will Pay, etc.

My only concern is that we can eventually move from having to still carry our physical cards with us when a referential card number can used with a digital token to help protect us from potential theft.
    McDonalds Pay
    Microsoft Pay
    Pepsi Pay
    FaceBook Pay
    Wal Mart Pay(oops!)
    NFL Pay

I hope it stops. Imagine if they make us have separate apps for them all? Then it's the cluttered wallet all over again.
When you consider, Apple 's user group are likely to be spending more, blocking them out is literally the worst decision ever. And since Apple doesn't allow ANY other payment method using NFC. There is nothing they could do.

They could copy China's WePay using QR Code. One way to get around NFC restriction.

I am not sure if they wanted the customer shopping info or they really wanted to be in the payment system sector. For the 2nd they will properly never succeed. For the first I wonder if they have their own Co-Brand credit Card and get those info from there. Which will still work with Apple Pay.
